The ultimate vintage ride

This Texas raised Volvo has been rust free since birth. kept in the dry plains of west Texas you will never find another 544 as solid as this one. It was fully restored in the original color back in '06 and looks like it was done yesterday. The car sat for the last 5 years and recent work included cleaning out the gas tank and fuel system. all new brake lines. wheel cylinders and shocks. The tires are only 2 years old and after a recent carb rebuild it starts. idles. and runs like it was new. The clean engine compartment includes the correct working shade and chain for the cooling system. This is a '63 which was the first year using a 12 volt system and all lights. fan and signals work perfect. The turn signal switch has been replaced as has the battery. The car has a period correct Volvo AM/FM radio and a correct Volvo tachometer. both working fine. The radio has the optional rear speaker from the Volvo Factory. There is a jack. tool kit. owners manual and warranty book included. The only non stock item is a dual exhaust done by the previous owner which gives a great. low. strong tone. A Y pipe has been fitted just behind the transmission and straight pipes go back from there. so professionally done it looks Factory. New Volvo Factory mud flaps complete the picture of this vintage ride.

This Volvo starts instantly every time. runs on regular gas. and drives like a modern car with it's B 18 engine (1800 cc) . keeping up a steady 70 mph on the highway with ease. The clutch is smooth and light with the synchros working perfect in every gear. The Carello driving lights are cosmetic only as they have not been hooked up yet. Car comes with a correct Volvo light switch for that purpose. This car has the famous three point seat belts from the Volvo Factory in perfect working order. the first ever offered in a production car. any where in the world. This was in 1963. remember.

I had a 544 exactly like this through four years of college back in the '60's and it never failed me and never broke down. These cars are strong like bull. I've had my fun with this one and now it's time to pass it on to the next lucky owner. This car will be sold for less than the cost of the restoration (isn't that the best way to buy them?). Here's an opportunity to by a true vintage ride at a reasonable price before the values really take off.
