1980 OLDSMOBILE CUTLASS 442
Here is a very nice and straight 1980 Olds Cutlass 442.
This car is a very inexpensive way to get started into the classic automobile trend. or just a fun car to bomb around in!
One of the rarest of the 442's ever built.
There were 886 units built for the 1980 model year.
Only 342 of these vehicles were sold in the US. while the majority of them were sold in Canada.
346 of the total number of cars were of a white / gold color scheme. and the remaining 540 were given a black / gold color scheme.
That breaks down to approximately 205 black / gold cars were sold in the US.
This particular car has had the low-hp 350 motor removed. and a stout 455 big block out of a 1973 Oldsmobile Cutlass.
This engine was built with a mild cam. and installed in 2000.
It only has around 7. 00 miles on it now.
The transmission was upgraded to a 700 R-4 to handle the extra power of the big block.
This was also installed in 2000.
The rear axle is equipped with Richmond 3. 42 gears. and an Auburn carrier.
The entire exterior of the car was repainted in its factory original colors in 1999.
At that same time the front seats were recovered the headliner was replaced. and the sun visors were redone.
The brakes and mechanics are in very good working order.
The factory air conditioning works very well. and blows cold! Even the factory cruise control works!
With the upgraded drive train. this car flat out moves!
