For sale is a 1973 Super Beetle (Curved windshield).  I been converting this VW into a Hotrod using a fiberglass kit I bought from “Spectre BGW ltd” out of Wisconsin. The kit is called “California super speedster kit” which has a chopped windshield and a rumble seat and a “40's style Wonderbug front hood with trim and convertible top. Kit called for the whole roof section to be removed and windshield chopped. Also front and rear hood removed. A fiberglass piece fits over the back and rear engine compartment; it is glue in place with special bonding glue made for metal to fiberglass. I have glued in place and stated bondoing the transition edges between fiberglass and metal. On the driver side above the rear tire I cut too much of the fiber glass piece while trying to fit it to the metal body. I have repaired the fiber glass. but it still needs a little more work.  Motor runs good and has been rebuilt from a stock 1600cc to 1640cc. Unknown mileage.  I replaced the fuel line but it needs to be tightened behind the motor underneath where it transitions from metal to tube. Motor ran good last fall (2013) but battery is bad now but I did manage to turn it over in May 2014. Front and rear suspension has been rebuilt. brakes rebuilt.   Floor pans and heater ducts are solid. I put blower fans in rear heat ducts to boost heating system. I also put blowers in defrost system to boost defroster. but doing so I cut out part of the vent on top of the dash to put a different duct vent.  All lights and gauges are functional.   I believe I have taken care of all major rust. still has some surface rust. I cut out a piece of the passenger side rear quarter panel that was rusted; I have the replacement sheet metal but have not welded in place. Three of the four fenders are new. Front seats have been re-upholstered.   Have new front and rear bumpers for it. Couple of the rear bumper bolts broke off when I was removing the rear bumper so they need to be drilled out.   I believe I have all the parts to finish the project. it might be missing some of the fender bolts but they are not hard to replace and some minor parts. I also have all the instructions. diagrams and notes to help finish the project. I will have all extra parts boxed. There is still a lot of work to be done as in some assemble. fiberglass work. bondo. gel coat. paint. But with the right tools and time you will have a cool Hotrod. It is sold as is and I believe I have mentioned everything but might have forgotten something's. so please email with any questions. Buyer is Responsible for pick-up/shipping. Payment is paypal or cash (see payment types). Payment must be received before vehicle will be released for shipping.
