1958 TRIUMPH TR3A RED for sale

TRIUMPH TR 3 A RHD 1958 Imported from Denmark early 1990's Body totally re-built with many new parts in 92/93 with photographs of original car. Work included new floors. inner and outer sills. clutch. brakes. s/s exhaust. windscreen. front calipers water pump. interior trim. hood and wiring loom. The car was converted from LHD to RHD. The car was resprayed in Guards Red. After the rebuild. it completed the Innes Ireland Memorial Rally which included laps of Silverstone. to prove the works. Car fitted with painted wire wheels including a perfect spare. Also fitted with a Moto-Lita steering wheel with Triumph logo boss centre. Interior Trim in Beige with red piping. Cockpit and boot carpeted in red. Full weather gear in perfect condition. Has new frame cover but this needs fitting. Also carrying chrome boot rack. Headlights fitted with chrome stone guards. The car is extensively under sealed.
Purchased by current owner on 23/7/94 from Alcocks auctioneers. Shown for many years as part of a Motor Automobilia theme at hotel being garaged and little used.
During restoration an insurance card was found in the car showing that it had belonged to a Mr. F. Friedin Savannah. Georgia. USA. That was in 1982.

There are some seven MOTs from previous years and the car will be supplied with a new mot from June 2014.
Improvements or areas of work.
The painted wheels need respraying. ( or really nice new chrome wires )
The boot rack needs re-chroming. Rack and pinion steering would be nice. as steering on these original TR 3's is fairly agricultural. The chrome is in generally very good condition with minimal pitting on overriders. The wing mirrors although perfectly useable. showing signs of age. Paintwork is generally very good and polished. however some signs of ageing is evident in minor blemishes.
The current owner is selling because of a back injury which makes it very difficult to exit the car.
Original steering wheel and brace also supplied.
