'88 Metallic Blue, 5 Speed Manual Transmission, 138,000 Miles, Very Clean for sale
Current customer rating:
Car starts every time. runs well. no smoke or colored exhaust and no leaks.
I put about 12 K miles on the car since I bought it in March '13 from Oskuie Service Center. Inc who specialize in Volvos.
I have used Mobil One oil and changed the oil every 3 K.
Fun car to drive.
I had a 242 GT when I was in High School and College and I bought this as a project.
I have really enjoyed this car. but my kids have been giving me grief about driving an "old car. " When I bought it. I thought my son. who turns 16 next month. would really like to drive it - but he is doesn't get it.
What I have done (about 6. 5 K in total invested):
New Voxx wheel and Michelin Primacy MXV 4 (195/60 HR 15) tires in April '13 (approximately 12 K on them).
New Michelin X-Ice Xi 3 snow tires used only winter 13/14.
New Kenwood KDC-BT 755 HD car radio with Pioneer Speakers - bluetooth radio with remote. Serius XM and Pandora.
Car re-sprayed factory Metallic Dark Blue in April '13.
New alternator in June '13.
New spare tire March '13.
Issues:
The a/c stopped working last summer.
A/c was serviced and converted to r 134 a before I bought the car.
I don't know what it will take to get it working.
Never brought the car in to get an estimate.
Drove back from the Cape last December in a nasty rain storm and had an issue with the engine hesitating at a certain rpm.
After I got home. I changed the spark plugs and the car ran fine.
Since then I have noticed a couple of hesitations - nothing that disables the car or causes it to stall.
It is like a hiccup every once in a while.
Driver's front seat adjustment large knob off - can use the small knob to adjust seat.
Missing the coin tray between seats but I have used that space as a cup holder for coffee/drinks.
Timing belt was changed at 125 K in 2012.
I have a set of the plastic floor sleds/mats - three are in good shape the drivers mat/sled is worn and cracked.
As to the Autocheck mileage issue - the odometer works fine.
On May-29-14 at 09:21:39 PDT. seller added the following information:
I have been asked if the car is available for inspection.
The answer is yes.
I will be around this weekend.
Please send me a message if you would like to inspect and drive the car.
Please note that the car is not now registered. but I have a large circular driveway.
I am also looking into getting a dealer plate so that the car can be driven on the road.
