In 1955 the United States Army contracted with the Toyota Motor Corporation to build a 4WD vehicle to be used by the soldiers and military police stationed in Japan.

Only 700 models of the 1982 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruisers were imported into the United States. This vehicle was a total off body restoration by Wimberly Four Wheel Drive in New Braunfels. Texas. It has an aluminum tub and fenders with a full body roll cage. The interior. engine compartment. nbsp;and under carriage have been fully rhino lined. It sports a completely rebuilt 2FE engine with tuned ceramic headers. electronic ignition. nbsp;and 15. 77 actual miles. It starts easily. runs perfectly. is very strong. and cruises at 65 - 70 mph with ease. It has front disc and rear drum brakes.
