I am mercedes benz club member 

This car belongs to my wife and registered with v5 in her name

Car was purchased 24th July 2011 for my wife's birthday

The car was going to be fully restored to showroom condition.
Without her ever knowing this car was sent off for a very long and expensive restoration
Car was first registered 03/04/1986 chassis no WDB1070472A041321 and purchased from Normand Mayfair LTD Park Royal London.

The 420sl is of limited production with just over 2000 ever made making it more rarer than other Sl Models of the era.

Now to give you brief insight of what was done.

new inner door seal chrome rails
new door petal rubber seals

new pillar seals
new horseshoe softtop compartment lid seal
new seals on the opening of door attached to chassis
new bumper rubbers front and back
new garnish mouldings 6 pieces of trim. 3 pieces either side of car
new chrome pieces running along top edge of seals
new hood insulation
All five wheels refurbished
New spare wheel compartment Lid
New rubber seals for rear lights
New window washer bottle
Original hirshman electric aerial
New electric window switches
New hazard light switch
New window washer jets in hood
New Battery
new front left brake caliper
Complete new respray in original color signal red
The list just goes on and on

The interior was done by the renown D Class company over in Chobham to OEM spec. this was new covering of front and rear seats. hand brake cover. new carpet etc.

Anything that had to go back together on the car with screws or bolts etc was replaced with exact new ones from Mercedes as I was giving this car a lot of attention to detail as possible and finishing car off as original as possible creating show car with no expense spared.

I could go on all day talking about the restoration on this car.
There was over ten thousand spent on this car alone in parts with all invoices here from Mercedes etc to look at. The total project was in excess off twenty thousand not including purchase of car creating one of the finest examples off 420sl out there right now.

2 certificates of maintenance from Mercedes which is very rare.
Old MOTS from previous owners and some invoices.
Thatcham 1 alarm installed with two remotes and certificate of installation
The car has current MOT till September 24th 2014 which is advisory clean

I have just had the car polished by the paint shop ready for new owner.

Reason for selling car is that wife has only used it probably 6 times at the most and once at the Silverstone classic last year. She says the car is way to big for her.
