This is a 1955 DKW (Auto Union / Audi) model F91 3=6 Hot rod project car.   The 3=6 name refers to the engine being a 2 stroke 3cylinder that fires as frequently as a 4 stroke 6 cylinder per crankshaft revolution

The body is amazingly straight and rust free. Someone repainted this is in the last few years and did a magnificent job. The quality of the paint work is extremely high. After it was painted it sat for a couple years and got a few minor nicks and chips and an unfortunate dent in the very back that knocked some paint off. but overall it still looks fabulous. The inside floor pan is very solid with just a bit of surface rust showing. From underneath I can see a small spot that had a rust hole and has been fiber glassed over.

All the glass is here and in good condition. There are no rubber seals included. Both Front and rear bumpers are included in good condition needing paint and installation. The front bumper and grill are just sitting in place in the pictures. there isn't any bumper brackets included. The rear side windows wind down into the body. both are still installed in the car.

There is an engine included but just a block with intake and exhaust manifolds. It does not turn and is in very poor condition. The gearbox is still in the car and is in unknown condition. The brakes. steering and suspension are all still in the car.

There is basically no interior leaving this option wide open for a customizer to do there own thing. The door handles have been shaved from the outside of the car and currently there is no way to latch the doors so they are tied closed for transport. The doors open at the front (Suicide doors) which also adds to the uniqueness and character.

There are two chrome strips that attach to the bumper that have been re-chromed and are in excellent condition. There are also a bunch of aluminum strips that attach to the grill that are also in excellent condition.

It has four original steel wheels. The tires are rough but are good enough to move the car around and it does roll very easily. The car is sold without the trailer but the trailer pictured is available to purchase separately if you are considering towing this car home. Send me a message if you want more details on the trailer.

The DKW does have a clear title showing the year as 1955 and make as Auto Union.

There is a spare right side door included which does still have glass in it.

I don't have the headlight buckets but they appear to be the same units as early VW beetle which are quite commonly available.

This would be a great car to restore or to continue with the custom hot rod project that someone else has started.   Please study the pictures carefully. What you see is what you get. The wheelbase is similar to a VW beetle and I've seen people put this body on a VW chassis. there is tons of room in the rear to enclose a VW drive-train.   This is a big project so please be sure this is what you want BEFORE bidding. The car can be viewed by appointment in Granite Falls. WA (near Seattle).
