Triumph TR8 (TR7 V8) Convertible for sale
Current customer rating:
For Sale – Triumph TR 8 (TR 7 V 8)
I have had this car for the last 4 years. having bought it as an incomplete conversion project that had stood for a few years. Since buying it. the car has had all of the running gear re-built. has had a fresh coat of paint and numerous other parts replaced. the majority of which are itemised below. I have run the car over last summer and have done circa 850 miles. The car runs and sounds fantastic. It is great fun to drive. even cruising effortlessly and smoothly at 80 mph keeping up with more modern cars.
Outside – Fresh gleaming red clearcoat paintwork (Photos available on request).
NAS spec rubber bumpers and side markers. New badges/decals. The shell is solid and sound with several new panels fitted by the previous owner.
Wheels – 15” Minilite style MGF rims and new wheel nuts
Engine – Rover 3. 5 l V 8 (ex SD 1) with 5 speed manual box. The previous owner informed me that the engine had been rebuilt. and on inspection of the sump and the valley/rocker covers. the engine appears to be very fresh. He did say that there was a mild road cam in it. but I can't wholly verify this. New remote bushes fitted to gearbox. New coil. distributor cap. leads. Fresh oil & oil filter. New Rocker cover and valley gaskets. SU carbs re-built with new needles. jets. gaskets. mixture screws. K&N filters
Full Rimmer Brothers stainless twin exhaust system
New radiator and top & bottom hoses. New bypass/heater hoses
Correct front V 8 sub-frame with aluminium anti-dive blocks
Front suspension – fully poly bushed with Spax dampers. new bottom ball joints. track rod ends. steering rack gaitors. New needle roller bearings on top mounts
New clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder
New fuel tank. fuel pump (engine bay mounted). sender unit and support straps
New brake master cylinder & servo. new pads & shoes. braided lines from master cylinder
Front brakes - uprated 4 pot brakes and new vented discs & pads
Rear brakes – new wheel cylinders. handbrake cable. adjuster and tensioner
Back axle - correct 3. 08 diff. New gasket. All links/trailing arms fully poly-bushed with adjustable Spax dampers.
New battery (located in boot). Numerous new switches and relays
New carpet set including boot carpet (from previous owner)
New trim parts – window seals. /
Tonneau cover – good condition
As with all cars of this age there are a couple of niggles/outstanding jobs… heater is bypassed and the hood has a couple of nicks in it. but these do not detract from the overall condition or performance of the car.
