Triumph Dolomite Sprint 1980 - Great Opportunity £6,995.00 Make Triumph Model Dolomite Year 1980 Transmission--Fuel Petrol Engine Size 1,998 ccm Mileage 111,760 Miles Emission class-- Triumph Dolomite Sprint 1980 - Great opportunity to buy an affordable Sprint (restored examples are fetching over £20 k currently) - use 'as is' or improve.....the choice is yours.This is a 1980 tax and MOT exempt Sprint with the original engine running and on the road. It has 111 k miles on the clock with some old (pre online) MOT's to back up the mileage. On a test drive earlier today, it drove well and overdrive etc all performed faultlessly. The car is not mint nor is it fully original, She's never failed an MOT as far as I can tell but recently that is because she's never sat one! What you have is a car that was in regular use up to a point (mots to back up), then off the road (proven by the DVLA online check) and is now back on the road. She was off the road for 19 years I believe. I've had the car up on a ramp (as you know, buying a BL car without this step is a major no-no) and she's had a bit of welding done in the past, but is absolutely solid. The driver and passenger floor have been welded as has the sprint-specific subframe. The boot floor, arches, front arches, full length, both sills, are all in great shape. What really helps with checking is, she doesn't have any carpet!! So you can see every inch of floor front and rear front underneath and up top. The carpet was removed (and is gone) as the previous owner said it was rotten from sitting. it has the original front and rear seats which are in good condition, but fitted to the car just now are a pair of basic bucket seats. It has the original dash and front seatbelts and other associated fittings. Up top the car is presentable. She has traces of rust here and there, just surface stuff. The car has been fully resprayed from a bare shell a long time ago and is still presentable, but has gone slightly cloudy which the previous owner says will polish out. The graphics are removable (but go with the fast road theme). Some of the chrome strips are missing but both sides ‘match'. There are some spare panels included – 2 door skins, an arch and 2 A pillar repair panels (in case a full restoration is undertaken at some point)The car starts and is lovely to drive. It has brand new tyres and runs on coilovers hence it sitting so well, It also has one of those plastic louvre rear window covers from back in the day and a period sunroof which looks to have been fitted really well. It has a stainless steel exhaust which I think has the slightest blow in the middle.The previous wrote and told me the following......"I bought it with the best of intentions to turn it into a fast road car. My plan was to strip out the bucket seats, fit a weld-in roll cage, tune the engine, fit better seats then perhaps fit some floor mats and just enjoy it.
