Selling my lovely Hudson Super Six which I've had for five years. only selling because we're building a new house and space is needed!
Metallic Green (a truly stunning colour and much admired by all who see the car).
Dark Brown Leatherette and Beige Cord Interior (The cord trim is original and very “art deco”).
Hudson 6 cylinder engine (3500 cc. 102 bhp) with recent new Carter carburettor.
Three speed “column change” manual gearbox coupled to the famous Hudson “wet clutch” system.
Conversion to 12 v with alternator (original 6 v dynamo also available).
Electronic ignition and fuel pump.
Battery Master Switch/Key (for safety and security).
New Brake master cylinder and rebuilt rear wheel cylinders
Excellent period White Wall Tyres (Coker).
Pre-1960 Historic Vehicle Class so MOT & Tax exempt.
Right Hand Drive (Ex Australian Car (dry climate) with large and excellent chassis).
Easily seats six adults.
Lovely light “centre-point-steering”. properly sorted by Hudson. so no need for power steering!
Original workshop manual also supplied with the car.
I have fitted a NOS “new old stock” period radio head unit. The original valve radio and comes with the car. although I've never tried to get it to work. especially now the car is 12 v not 6 v.
Overall the car is in very good condition and run regularly for local vintage car meetings/events. family outings. picnics etc. I suppose you could use it for weddings/proms etc. if you're inclined to do so. it would be excellent for that!
Always kept in a de-humidified garage with our other cars.
As usual with cars of this age (67 years) there's always something to do. the speedometer needs oiling or something as it sometimes makes a dry noise. I have fitted a modern coolant temp gauge for piece-of-mind. although the temperature is always rock solid.
A rare. unusual and fun car for not a lot of money considering how American car prices are “on the up” at the moment.
Sensibly priced to sell. Insurance agreed value £15. 00.
