John DeLorean, the former chief engineer Pontiac and the man in charge of the В«muscle carВ» GTO, founded the company in 1974, although the production of the DMC 12 is not started until 1981 and was carried out in Belfast, Ireland, in a factory, for which paid the British government. Thanks to the miracle of the body, smooth stainless steel over fiberglasa, the car looked exotic, but disappoint bought a V-shaped cylinder engine of alloys, developed by Peugeot, Renault and Volvo. The engine never has been developed taking into account the characteristics of a sports car, and even though the model hereinafter used engines Renault Alpine A310 and A610 with turbochargers, DeLorean made only one prototype vehicle with two turbonagnetatelyami, which, ironically, has worked very well.
