RARE 1984 Volkswagen Mk2 Golf GTI Type 19 GTI engineering for sale

Here's my very early. VERY RARE. Alpine White Mk2 Golf GTi in excellent condition.

 

The car was first registered in Newton Abbot. Devon on 5 June 1984. Making it one of the first Mk2's in the country (only released in the UK in March 1984). The car was then treated to a ‘plus-pac' kit from GTI Engineering in 1985. This consisted of gas flowed heads with 40mm inlet and 33mm exhaust valves. gas flowed inlet manifold. sports camshaft and a modified distributor boosting the bhp from 112 bhp to 140bhp (costing £1749 back in 1985).

The Golf is in excellent condition. The car has all the original exterior plastic bumpers. arches etc from the factory (not replaced with cheap after-market ones). The car has very rare 8 p's p slots (not the usual 9 p's p slots). 8 p's were fitted to 1984 cars. The body work and underneath all is rock solid with no rust or rot at all. The underside has been wax oiled then stonechiped. The interior of the car is in excellent condition (only minor damage is to the piping of the driver's and passenger's seat where people have been getting in and out over the years). The car has all original features inside. the parcel shelf and door cards have not had any cut-outs. Everything works down to the mpg gauge and trip computer.  

 

Since I've owned the car it has had a new cam belt. clutch. starter. head gasket. nbsp;battery and all service items done.

 

This is a very rare Mk2 Golf having only covered 134. 00 miles. The car is a great investment. It is perfectly presentable now. but wouldn't take much to get it to concourse level.

The car is currently SORN. The car will come with a full 12 months MOT if required.

Only selling due to other projects (early air cooled VW's) taking priority and a lack of use.
