Classic 1967 VW Beetle – Fully restored to original – Price £8. 50 ono.

MoT to April 2017 (no advisories).   Free road tax applies.

General Information Description

Early 1967 (January) model UK. right hand drive on an E registration plate.   One year only model with all correct parts – the last model with sloping headlights.   Very good condition (see photos).   I bought this car in June 2016 as 90% restored having had a full body and pan restoration. respray and new engine and gearbox.   I have completed the restoration to the original spec with wheels. hubcaps. tyres. shock-absorbers. headlining. stainless steel bumpers and more.   All work including a full service was carried out by a VW specialist company in June/ July 2016.   Restoration receipts are available going back to 2004.   Starts first time. drives and stops perfectly.

Body and paintwork

Very solid. no rust.   Roof gutters. heater channels. sills and the spare wheel well are all rust free.   No bumps or scratches – minor paintwork repairs were made during work in June/ July.   There are a few small cracks in the paint.   I will provide a tin of touch up paint with the car.   Doors close flush.   Window rubbers and door seals have all been replaced.  

Engine and Gearbox

New engine (VW Heritage 1300 twin-port (original was 1500)) and gearbox in 2014.   Current mileage – 67. 30. new engine fitted at 64. 00 (miles since new engine 2. 30).   Unleaded petrol.   Engine serviced June/ July 2016.

Wheels. Tyres and Brakes

Wheels – Wide-5. 10 slot (correct for year) with matching New Old Stock wheel trims.

Tyres – Firestone 155x15 (black) only 200 miles since new.

Braking system – Serviced June/ July 2016 including new rear cylinders and shoes.

Electrics

Converted to 12 Volt with electronic ignition.

Interior

All matching blue/ grey seats and door cards.   New carpets and headlining.

Front seat belts.   Ra-Bambus front parcel tray.

Reason for Sale

I have enjoyed driving the car throughout the summer.   Previously the car has been dry garaged and since my ownership it has been under a cover since June 2016.   It is such a good car that it needs to be in a dry garage over the winter and I don't have one.

The car is located near Farnham in Surrey.
