XB Ford Falcon Panelvan Panel VAN XW XY XA XC GS GT Coupe

1974 XB Falcon panel van. 250 3 speed. 86000 original miles. outstanding original condition. unrestored. fantastic original paint. rust free! This van was purchased by Ray Thurling. owner of Thurling's Transport. Oaks Estate Canberra ACT. from EJ Rudge Motors in Queanbeyan. the original dealer stickers are still fitted. Ray operated his trucking business from home and kept this van garaged its whole life. All original other than the CB radio Ray fitted back in the seventies; it still works. I don't think it's ever had a night outside the garage. and was used sparingly. and fastidiously maintained by an old-school truck driver. This has allowed the van to remain in remarkable condition with a beautiful gloss on the paint. mint dash pad with no cracks. excellent seats. carpet. and original radio. There has been a touch up on the left hand rear door. other than that the rest of the paint is original. This would have to be one of the best surviving unrestored commercial vehicles of the 70s you will see anywhere and may well be the best example of an unrestored XB panel van you will find. The van does not have any rust and I have attempted to show the condition with detailed pics of the dirty places where you would normally find rust. The sills. gutters. fender lips etc are all unbelievable. you can clearly see the original spot welds and factory drip holes and factory over spray. These vans are prone to rust. particularly lower body. gutters and spare wheel area. these are all mint. The door seals are excellent and not cracked and still pliable. there is no wind nose with windows wound up. The van was fitted with stick-on rubber protector strips which were falling off so I removed them. There are a couple of minor marks which would be covered if the strip was replaced. There are some minor marks on the body; I have tried to show one above the windscreen. and the left hand mirror has an edge broken off it. I have purposely left these areas as they were to emphasize the originality of the van. The original wheels and dog dish hub caps were removed because the tires where hard. they are included in the sale. I have fitted brand new genuine American Racing wheels with new Sumatomo rubber. The water pump and radiator are new. the van drives very well. I can supply more photos and welcome any inspection before the end of auction not after. you bid to buy not to look.
