Seller's notes: Interior shows nearly 50 yrs of wear but is without major damage New carpets would make a distinct improvement. Body work is sound but observing much of the rear body still has the original paint work inevitably there are some small scratches and imperfections here and there. Likewise on the hub caps there is evidence of minor rust bubbles. Much of the underside has been scraped back to bare metal and repainted. there is a small hole in the bottom of the battery box where previous leakage has caused corrosion

Sunbeam Alpine Rootes series 5 1966 in British Racing Green for sale
Current customer rating:
A pretty little car whose appearance and comparative rarity still causes heads to turn. Although it's performance does not match a more modern car of similar size it is lively enough to be great fun to drive
This car has been in the current ownership for 31 years and was purchased from a Rootes garage whose owner's wife had driven it from new. The current mileage of 69930 is genuine and supported by MOT certs. The car has been driven 20 miles since MOT
The only reason that it is offered for sale is that arthritic hips. ow regretfully prevent me from getting in and out of the car without considerable difficulty
It has always been garaged and has not been out in the rain in living memory this charmed existence has added to it's good standard of preservation.
The mechanics are good the car starts well and maintains 40 psi oil pressure under normal driving conditions. A four branch (bunch of bananas type) high performance exhaust manifold is fitted as part of a stainless steel exhaust system. A Kenlowe electric fan is fitted (the mechanical fan is carried to guard against electrical failure)
Five new radial tyres have recently been fitted
The hood is serviceable and weatherproof but it has been rarely used other than am annual raising and stretch. There is however a small nick in the rear window material.
Body work and finish is in good condition for it's age as is the chrome although one or two of the hub caps show evidence of some rust bubbles.
Most of the underbody has been scraped back to bare metal and represerved -there are no obvious corrosion problems.
. In summary a well preserved unrestored car that carries it's years well and provides practical motoring.
