1965 Chevelle 2 door station wagon for sale

Current customer rating: current rating for this car(2.15) based on 729 votes
This is a rare 2 door 1965 Chevelle station wagon. It has 327 badges on it but I dont believe it was originally a small block car. It has a Smedding built 540ci big block with less than 3000 miles. Its not their most recent one its the 590hp version before it. You can go to their website to check it out. look up smedingperformance. A Vintage air front runner serpentine system. The A/C compressor is hooked up but never charged. It has an aluminum radiator. a mechanical fan and one front pusher fan. The ignition system is all MSD. the carburator is a BG mighty Demon 750 fed by a Holley blue electric fuel pump. It runs like a beast but its too small and could use a bigger carb. The transmission is a Tremec 5 speed bought new with the shifter moved for this application. It has a mechanical linkage not a slave cylinder. 3" Magniflow exhaust with crossover. Suspension consists of front coil overs. Global West tubular control arms. big front swaybar. close ration steering gearbox and PST boxed rear control arms. It has Baer brakes all the way around and American racing 17" front and 18" rear rims. Tires have less than 3000 miles and have little wear. The firewall has been smoothed out but never got around to put a windshield wiper motor in it. The paint is driver condition. It is probably 8+ years old. a few runs and some cracks that I will show in the pictures. The interior has bucket seats. tach dash. Autometer gauges and stock gauges work. power windows and an aftermarket radio that fits the dash. The interior is in good driver condition. The back area has been used and is not perfect. The back window is power and works. it does have the line down the center that is common with these vehicles. The gas filler was relocated to the rear tail light. This vehicle was built by my father and has been sitting in my garage for about seven years. We got it out for a couple shows but I don't pay enough attention to it. It does need a new differential pinion seal because it leaks. The motor has always had an issue with temperature spiking. The temp will start to rise in hotter weather. rev the motor a couple times and it comes back down. I've been told this is an air pocket in the cooling system. Other than that it runs cool. This is a big motor. not so big radiator and its in AZ so I want this to be known. This car has a couple mechanical issues that I've explained. Somebody more knowledgeable with the higher performance motors should be able to fix them. I'm not that experienced. We don't have any issues with it in the cooler weather but can be troublesome in the AZ heat. This car does drive down the road beautifully. You need to be at around 70 though to put it in 5th gear. It has 3. 73:1 12 bolt posi. It goes like a monster and is a blast to drive. Please ask questions and I will do my best to answer them.
