Up for sale is a lovely example of an Austin Seven Ruby. Being a 1934 Mark 1 model it is one of the earliest Austin Seven jewel variant. It's a Deluxe Saloon with the big sunshine roof.

I acquired it from family last year and have restored it mechanically to a sound condition. and the interior to an event showable condition.  The previous owner purchased it in February 1974 and kept it in a garage after it stopped working on the drive home. Unfortunately I've not been able to find any history other than a tax disc from the 60's.

The mileage is just over 12800 which I believe to be genuine as the extent of ware and tare reflects very little use. However I have no proof of this.

Since being under my ownership the following has been done:

·         Top end rebuild – now sounds like a sewing machine

·          Gasket overhaul

·          Electrical overhaul

·         New battery. coil + condenser – starts very reliably

·          A bit of paint touch up

·          New head lining – original pattern

·          New carpets

·          5 brand new tyres

·         Front suspension renovated

·         New door cars

·         Upholstery redone (excluding seats)

·         Rechromed bumpers

There is a whole folder of receipts amounting to £2000 for the work I've done. The chassis is solid. extremely good for its age.  I have not had to do any welding on it and I would not expect any to have to be done for a significant amount of time. The main body paint work is in good order but as expected from an 80 year old classic with original paint work. this is the only area that could be seen as needing some attention. The seats are original so leather is a bit tired however. to me. this is added character.

She starts a treat and sounds perfect. Drives faultlessly. selecting gears with no trouble.

This would be an excellent car for an enthusiast and I am sure you'll be more than happy with it. The car is fully registered so has the new V5C. she is both MOT and Tax exempt.

Viewing is welcome and I am happy for you test drive her.

I can supply more photos and any more information you wish to know. Either contact me via eBay or call me on 01308 485644.

Winning bidder to pay a 10% deposit immediately and contact me with regards to collection/drive away.

Just in case any one was wondering why i re-listed the Ruby. I made a mistake last time so it was going to end at 5 in the morning which was impractical. So now it ends are a more sociable hour of the evening.
