You'll also discover that they don't sit around in the showroom very long. selling almost as quickly as we can list them. So with that in mind. get your phone ready because this 1979 Jeep CJ5 is about to become the latest addition to the "SOLD" page.


A lot of off-road enthusiasts prefer the shorter. more nimble CJ5. which many regard as the purest of the late-model Jeeps. However. this one is so pretty you might have second thoughts about plunging into the dirt with it. The white paint looks great and offers great contrast with the black rubber fender flares. and shines up well when you hose it off after a day of fun in the sun. Silver "Renegade" graphics are more subtle than many vehicles (particularly Jeeps) of this vintage. and the whole vehicle has a kind of quiet strength to it that's hard to quantify. The simple chrome bumpers and asymmetrical mirrors surely help with the CJ's no-nonsense demeanor. and there's a color-matched trailer hitch out back that makes it practical. too. It doesn't' appear that it was ever one of those rust bucket Jeeps from up north. showing straight. well-finished bodywork in all the critical areas. This is a really clean Jeep.


The gray interior is a smart choice for a vehicle that will be spending a lot of time out in the sun. Fresh vinyl seat covers are durable and weather-resistant. so keeping it clean will be the least of your worries. and it appears that the floors have been covered in durable textured material so you don't have to worry about trapped moisture. A locking center console provides some security in the soft-top Jeep items like the tilt steering column. roll bar. and even the shifter boot have all been color-matched to the bodywork. A shiny chrome instrument panel highlights the newer AIWA AM/FM/CD stereo and original gauges that are so nice they have to have been rebuilt. right? This CJ also includes a full gray convertible top with side curtains and soft doors so you don't have to stop having fun when the weather turns.


Inside that bright white engine bay. you'll find a very well detailed 304 cubic inch AMC V8 engine. which makes this lightweight CJ a little bit of a muscle car. With a few chrome dress-up items and bright corporate blue paint on the block itself. it looks fantastic. and given how clean the inner fenders. firewall. and hood are. it's unlikely that this Jeep has ventured off-road since it was completed. It's backed by a 3-speed manual transmission and 2-speed transfer case which. obviously. drives all four wheels. Long-tube headers stretch outside the frame and dump into side pipes which sound incredible. giving this clean Jeep more than a little attitude. It's quite clean underneath. not detailed for show. but with everything in order and plenty of evidence of careful ownership. and the undercoating means that it's all but impervious to the elements you'll find in the rough. Familiar chrome wheels are a favorite among the off-road crowd and they carry recent 31x10. 50-15 Goodyear Wrangler radials.

TERMS OF SALE  

1. Per the eBay User Agreement. by placing a bid you are entering into a legally binding contract and are committed to purchasing the vehicle described above. The details of this commitment are further outlined in the eBay User Agreement.

2. Vehicle may be sold by Streetside Classic Cars prior to the end of the auction. Streetside Classic Cars reserves the right to end its auctions early or to cancel bids solely at its discretion and shall not be held liable for any such cancellation.

3. The winning bidder is required to contact Streetside Classic Cars within 24 hours after the close of the auction to finalize the details of the transaction.

4. A $1. 00 non-refundable deposit is required within 48 hours of the auction's close.   This deposit reserves the vehicle and removes it from the market. Acceptable payment types for deposit are: credit card. wire transfer. cashier's check. and money order.

5. If winning bidder does not contact Streetside Classic Cars and submit deposit within 48 hours of auction close. vehicle may be made available to the next highest bidder or another qualified buyer on a first come. first serve basis.

6. Streetside Classic Cars has represented this vehicle to the best of its ability. Prospective bidders are encouraged to contact us directly to provide additional information or answer any questions.

7. Please be aware that all pre-owned vehicles. regardless of age. mileage. or manufacturer are subject to cosmetic wear and mechanical failure. Streetside Classic Cars encourages bidder to have a personal inspection completed prior to delivery to help ensure your satisfaction. Third party inspections are to take place prior to a vehicles shipment or delivery.

8. All vehicles are sold "AS IS" and with no warranties expressed or implied.

9. Final or winning bid price does not include shipping. tax. title. or registration fees. It is the purchaser's responsibility to provide for any state or local taxes and shipping expenses resulting from the sale.

10. We can assist you in delivery through our network of private and commercial carriers. Most of them can deliver the vehicle to your driveway. We assume no responsibility for damages or delays incurred once a vehicle is in a shipper's custody.

11. Streetside Classic Cars bears no liability and shall be held harmless for any complications. expenses. or damages resulting from a failure to meet these terms as they have been set forth and established herein.

12. An additional documentation fee of $199 will be added to the purchase price at the time of sale.
