Up for your consideration is my 1973 Cadillac Fleetwood 60 Special Brougham. This car is a beautiful. CLEAN. and original example of what a classic 70's Cadillac is supposed to be. If I didn't already have three projects. I would be holding onto the Cadillac but I have serious space issues; and I can't quite swing all of these cars. Not to say I won't try if the auction doesn't sell. I just won't be low balled – and I'd like to see the car go to someone that truly appreciates what it is.

This has to be about the best. older car I had acquired. Aside from what I list below. it is a solid running. accident free. original paint. beautiful vehicle. I just cannot get over that it is so nice for being out in this part of the country. It clearly was never driven in the winters or saw salt. There was a Missouri inspection sticker on the windshield so obviously the vehicle was from the area…maybe an original purchase. Again. I cannot emphasize on how nice and clean this vehicle is. I have learned that people have a wide description of ‘rust free'. ‘clean'. or my favorite ‘full power'…I am very critical and will rip everything apart when I own a vehicle and will most likely make it appear much worse than it really is. I would rather you know everything that I have found in order to take the car any direction that you may want to should you be interested.

In my opinion the early 70's – 73 being the last year where the best looking Fleetwood's. Aside from the 50's – I think these ‘tanks' where very well built and offer that option driving around to be different. I don't know too much about Cadillac's or GM vehicles for that matter but I read on a Cadillac forum that 73 had a better cam for the 472 engine and that one of the Cadillac performance shops based a cam off of. Thought it was worth mentioning. Lots of looks and thumbs up with this car!

I will start with the ‘bad/possible concerns' or what I would address:

Ø      The only rust that I have located is some minor surface along the passenger base of the vinyl top. I am not a body guy. but I think that it is something that I could manage to fix myself if I where to keep the car. It is not that severe and looks like it could be cleaned up relatively easy by a competent person.

Ø      New driver door light switch and LED bulbs in all doors

Ø      Radio's speakers all replaced and sound nice and clear – higher optioned radio is original to car – automatic motor driven seek!

Ø      Trip odometer was repaired by Bob's – cluster is flawless now

Ø      Rear light fillers are nice. some marking – minor – and a little rounded area from who knows what

Ø      This may or may not be concern to you – the factory air suspension/shocks have been replaced by a stand alone air shock setup. They work. I put a few PSI in today and the rear lifts up nice. All of the factory hoses. pump. and controls are still in place. This was not my doing but at least everything is still there

Ø      Quadrajet carburetor needs to have accelerator pump replaced. slight bog if you hit accelerator sharply. I may be able to address this if time permits

Ø      Front headlight bumper fillers acquired but not painted or installed

The good point of the car:

Ø      62K original miles!

Ø      472 engine – beautiful running. non-leaking condition

Ø      New plugs. wires. cap. rotor. and points

Ø      A/C has lots of components that where replaced and blows super cold

Ø      Gas tanks was pulled and the filler neck had some solder added to it to repair a minor leak (and huge smell) – like new now

Ø      Paint is very nice and clean – polish it up and it would look even better

Ø      Tires are newer and have plenty of tread – no dry rot

Ø      New shocks

Ø      Newer battery

Ø      New brakes

Ø      New shocks all around

Ø      New exhaust system

Ø      Cannot confirm but apparently the transmission may have had some work done. Regardless. it shifts smooth and very unnoticeably. New vacuum modulator is obvious.

Ø      Analog clock was repaired and works perfectly; keeps great time!

Ø      Nice. nice. NICE interior

Ø      Door weatherstrips and roof seals are in good. pliable condition

Ø      Front seats are BOTH power

Ø      Vinyl top is not ripped. it has nice color – sun has got just a little to certain areas but it really looks great shined up

Ø      Lighting and electrical all works as its supposed to

Ø      Wipers. fan. horn. windows. locks all function properly

Ø      ALL the chrome and polished trim is very nice. presentable. and clean

Ø      Spare tire is perfect

Ø      I am sure I am missing more!

I am a mechanical guy and I did look over the car very well and drove the car quite a bit. Timing is set at 8 degrees per factory. idle is fine. carburetor is also adjusted nicely (accelerator pump replacement needed only). as said before transmission shift nice. rear end makes no strange noises or whining. and the suspension/brakes/steering is all flawless.

All fluids are more recently changed and in good condition.

Included is the glove box paperwork in the original envelope and an original GM factory Service Manual.
