 Here we have an exceptional bus which has been fully restored to a very high standard. An original 1966 13 Window Deluxe Microbus.

Supplied new to San Francisco in 1966 this bus has spent its life in California and has only just been brought into the UK in March 2014. We have the original Californian state of entitlement certificate for the bus.

Matching chassis numbers. Original Chassis plate and M code plate are in the correct locations and match accordingly with the busses age and history. Planned production date of September 23rd 1966.

Full meticulous restoration has been completed including a professional bare metal re-spray inside and out in Sealing Wax red / Beige Grey. The paintwork is exceptional from every possible angle and has to be seen to be truly appreciated. 6 Original pop out side windows in good working order and of course the added two rear windows make this a very special 13 window deluxe bus as opposed to a standard 11 window model. Front polished stainless steel safari pop out windows fitted professionally and work as they should and do not leak. Original Microbus Deluxe clock overhauled and working. Original hazard warning lights fitted as from new. Subtle cigarette lighter retro fitted underneath dash. Rear stainless steel jail bars. Brand new Creative Engineering 3 bow polished stainless steel roof rack fitted March 2014.

Original wide 5 steel wheels complete with small logo VW polished stainless steel hubcaps and white wall tyres.

Mechanically the car has been restored to remain as original as possible with the only upgrade being a fully rebuilt 1600 twin port engine running on all new ancillaries.

Absolutely stunning interior including a full overhaul of all the original microbus seats which have been stripped to the shell. re-foamed and re-trimmed in original basket weave / grey vinyl material with grey piping. New door cards and kick panels in matching material complete with correct metal trim inserts. New headlining in original white perforated vinyl fitted during restoration. The bus has been freshly registered in the UK this month and will be given an age related number plate from the DVLA. Comes fully serviced with 12 months MOT and is lucky enough to be road tax fee exempt.
