1964 Volkswagen Beetle with Factory Sunroof

I am selling my 1964 VW Beetle with fully functioning factory steel sunroof and original pop out rear quarter windows. This was a 5 year off-the-pan restoration / build.   VIN numbers on pan and body are numbers matching.

Body and Pan:  The pan halves were removed and new pans welded in place with the entire pan/chassis getting sandblasted. sprayed with MasterSeries Silver primer. and top coated with MasterSeries Custom Chassis Coating – (gloss black).   Both heater channels were replaced.   The body was then placed on a rotisserie and the entire body was stripped down to bare metal and primered in MasterSeries Silver primer.   Any rust repairs needed were performed.   Body was professionally primed. blocked. and painted.   Color is Candy Red Metallic with Tinted Clearcoat.

Interior:  Dynamat sound dampening material applied to inside body panels. roof. and floor.   Interior completely replaced using Sewfine oatmeal carpet. tan headliner. and two tone upholstery that is tan and off white in color.   I installed a pair of Colorado custom bucket seats from Sewfine with adjustable tracks that are bolted securely to the floor.   Dash is uncut and retains the original am radio that has been restored and is functional.  

Suspension and Braking:  The front suspension includes a custom 4 inch narrowed beam with SAW adjusters.   It has CB Performance 2. 5 inch dropped spindles in front and has new CB Performance disc brakes with braided stainless steel brake lines.   Rear brakes are standard beetle drum brakes (new drums. shoes) with braided stainless steel brake lines here as well.   All hard brake lines have been replaced.   Master cylinder is a new dual circuit master cylinder.   All new clutch cable. accelerator cable. heater cables.

Drivetrain:  I installed a Rancho Performance Type 1 Pro Street swing axle transmission with Super Diff. aluminum side plate. hardened keys. and welded 3-4 hub.   Has a new Sachs clutch and pressure plate and clutch with a CB Performance forged and lightened flywheel which is attached to the 8 doweled DPR 69 mm stroke (stock stroke for 1600) 4140 forged steel counter-weighted crankshaft.   The 1600 cc dual port engine was built from the ground up with a new AS41 magnesium case. new Mahle jugs and pistons (85. 5mm). and rebuilt stock VW connecting rods.   Has new Autolinea 040 cylinder heads and stock camshaft and lifters.   Mahle cam. main. and rod bearings.   Oil pump is a Schadek 26 mm oil pump and case is full flowed with remote filter - using HP1 Fram oi filter.   SVDA VW Type 1 distributor.   Fuel delivery is via a rebuilt 34-Pict-3 carburetor.   Engine tin was powder coated satin black.   Has a Tri Mil ceramic euro exhaust muffler which sounds great.   There is less than 1500 miles on engine and transmission.  

Electrical:  The entire electrical system has been converted from 6 volt to 12 volt properly including a new 12 volt armature in the wiper motor and all new 12 volt bulbs.   I completely replaced the old wiring with a new Wiring Works wiring harness.   Power is supplied by a 12 volt alternator. replacing the old 6 volt generator.   I also installed custom aftermarket sound system with 2 Rockford Fosgate ten inch subwoofers powered by a Rockford Fosgate amplifier.   The subs were placed in a custom sealed enclosure that is covered in matching oatmeal carpet and sits in the rear parcel shelf and is easily unplugged and removed.   I placed a pair of two way speakers with angled tweeters in the front kickpanels using custom fiberglass panels covered with matching oatmeal carpet.   The head unit is a Sony CD player/receiver that is mounted in the glovebox.   It has hands-free smart cell phone pairing. blue tooth connectivity for using an ipod. iphone or other Bluetooth enabled smart phone for a music source. as well as an infrared key fob remote control.  

Trim:  Chrome in excellent condition.   Has original front and rear bumpers in excellent condition.   I installed custom polished aluminum running boards and used Wolfsburg West high polished stainless steel body moldings.   It has American Eagle Five Spoke 15 inch rims with Nankang 145/15 tires up front and Fuzion 195/60R15 tires in the rear.   Rear torsion bars are rotated to lower the back of the car slightly for a sharp looking stance.   All wheels have great clearance with no rubbing on fenders or headlamp buckets on turning.
