Current customer rating: (411 votes ) based onJust right for that early spring cool down driving this very nice 1965 Sunbeam Tiger with the convertible top down. The previous owner had the car completely rebuilt with new paint. carpet. top. seats. new wood dash panel. etc. There is no rust in this car! The engine and drive train are original to the car. The 260 V8 has been freshened. but not bored. The original carburetor and manifold have been updated to Edelbrock. The original air cleaner was replaced with an aftermarket type. The original tachometer has been replaced with an Auto Meter type. The bumpers and guards were re-chromed during the restoration. The body badges and side chrome are new.
The Sunbeam trunk letters are original. It has an updated Griffin aluminum radiator. with cooling fan installed. The doors fit nicely and the engine runs strong and sounds great with Flow Master exhausts. All the instruments work. as do all the lights. horn and turn signals. I purchased a reproduction clock for it that works great. It has an AM/FM cassette. as well as Auto Meter gauges below the radio. The original steering wheel has been upgraded to the Lecarra wooden type. When restored. a larger exhaust was installed. and through the frame holes were bypassed. The frame has been reinforced with all new suspension. The restorer detailed the trunk and built a battery box and moved the battery behind the passenger seat. Everything was done professionally. It has been converted to an alternator and did not have a brake booster on it when I purchased it. It stops just fine as is. It has a few chips and flaws in the paint. but shows very well. It has won several trophies and a First place in the British Car Day South Show. It has had approximately 2500 miles on it since the restoration. It has new brakes. master cylinder and new tires with LAT wheels. It also has the factory traction masters. One picture shows the under dash plug hole that only real Tigers have. I have never had it authenticated. but I have no doubt it's the real deal. Please make arrangements to check it out or have your agent look it over.
