Seller's notes: This car is in lovely condition for its age, however it is 23 years old, as such there are the beginnings of a rust bubble on the boot lid and a couple of other small spots, some of which have been touched in with a paint pen and there are also some car park dings etc.Inside the shut lines of the bonnet and doors are suprisingly clean for a car of this age.There is a scratch on the front bumper as can be seen in the pictures.The interior is very clean, however there are tears on the outside bolster on the driver's seat. One centre cap is missing from the rear left alloy wheel and a cover is missing from the plastic sill cover.

This has been my girlfriend's car for the last 6 years. prior to that it belonged to another young lady who is a a friend of her family.

Prior to their ownership it was owned by the gentleman who bought it new. so it has only had three former keepers in all this time!

This Golf is in remarkably original condition. it doesn't appear to have been bashed and thrashed like many examples.

It has had absolutely no modifications with the exception of a JVC CD player. nbsp;the doors and parcel shelf do not have any holes etc. from installation of aftermarket speakers.

 

Unfortunately we have not made the most of this car as I have had three others already until recently and she gets the train to work.

It has only covered 650 miles since it was MOT'd in April last year. so we have decided to let it go to someone who will get more use out of it.

 

I have done a little work to get it ready for its next owner. nbsp;it needed some TLC as it was a little smokey on start up and the gear change was not quite right. so in the last few weeks I have replaced:

Valve stem seals

Head gasket

Cam belt

Gear linkage bushes.

 

Whilst I was doing the work I could see the pistons were tight in the cylinders and there was no scoring of the bores. the valves were also very tight in the guides.

It is now running very well. pulling strongly and changing gear exactly as it should.

This car has also recently benefitted from a new starter motor. rear exhaust box. rear caliper and brake bias valve.

The car is taxed until the end of April and the MOT is due on 21st April. it should have absolutely no problem passing as it has never failed on rust and has not previously been welded.

Comes with full tool kit including jack and the BBS spanner for the centre caps. Haynes manual also included.

All tyres have loads of tread.

It has service stamps up to 2007 in the book and documentation showing servicing up to 2011. I have bought a bosh oil filter and will change the oil before the auction ends.
