Apologies" for the quality of the pictures. they where taken 3 weeks ago when I was trying to dodge the showers but to no avail! suffice to say she looks so much better in the flesh!

 

Back Ground History:

The car has resided in Brighton and surrounding area for all its life

Originally purchased from  Chandlers BMW Brighton in 1985

In 1987 She was Purchased by the second keeper from Cooper BMW Ascot. in his ownership until 1995 (Purchase invoice is in the history file)

The last keeper of the car is a retiring orthopedic surgeon. who after owning her for some 18 years is now moving house and decided reluctantly to sell her.

He purchased the car from renowned BMW Specialists  Munich Legends in September 1995 the car was then used as his personal   transport both in this country and continental trips . uffice to say that the car was maintained at the level appropriate for such a fine car ( to quote the Surgeon :whatever was  required it was done! )the car was retired from main transport in 2005 when she was used on Hi' days and holidays . kept in a dry garage and regularly maintained. her mileage covered since November 2005 is just over 1000 miles

The last mechanical work carried out in 2013: overhaul front brakes . eplace both front calipers . /p>

 

Overall condition of the vehicle: I shall be as critical as I can (Please read my feedback on classic cars sold)

Bodywork:

The bodywork is excellent. ery difficult to fault . certainly can't find anything to warrant criticism!  

The flanks of the car are arrow straight with no dents or supermarket trolley dents. span >  the A pillar . Slam  . o rust” door gaping . uperb.

Paintwork:

Superb” excellent shine with good depth. /p>

Floor Section/inner wings:

The floor sections are good along with the sill sections. front and rear inner wing and suspension turrets tops excellent. br>

Interior:

Wonderful” finished in cream leather. he only discernible wear  is on the right hand seat bolster. seat belt rub)but no more than you would expect. he rear seats look like they have never been sat in .

Door cards. ash facia. rash pad/dash top. roof lining all excellent.

Carpets :excellent also having the benefit of the original heavy duty over-mats.

Drive Train:

Engine:

 Superb' the engine has no overheating issues . oes not use or leak oil. he valve gear is quiet in operation. ll drive belts just replaced

Gearbox

Excellent' smooth change . o syncromesh weakness.

Final Drive ( L. S. D. )

No clunks  or whines.

Wheels & Tyres:

The car is shod with very good  TRX  Michelin 240/45/15's with superb  none ‘ kerbed “ cross spoke alloy wheels  .

Electrical:

At the time of writing all systems are working

On the road:

I recently covered nearly 200 miles of mixed road conditions ( Motorway ‘A' ‘B' Roads) and the car was an absolute joy' to drive!

The sound of the magnificent M1 engine as the revolution's rise is totally intoxicating. but it is not just all about the power unit . t is the sense of presence the  car bestows . t maybe 28 years old yet it feels taught and precise. he controls have a feeling of solidity. he Recaro orthopaedic  bucket seats have so much adjustment  you can find the perfect fit. span >  you know that this car is still capable of whisking  you on a transcontinental  and enjoying every minute of it!

Anything to do " hardly anything really!
There are two superficial rear screw on  metal splash deflectors that are corroded. ut these are nothing more than a glorified mudflap! and I would modify to make in plastic.

The  warning light for a abs sensor is on ( the brakes are working perfectly ) this is no doubt down to the recent change in both front calipers and needs the system reset .

The gas struts that hold the bonnet up are weak. ut new ones are on order and will be here and fitted prior to the auction end.

And that's about it !

Only  524 Rhd versions made of the M 635CSI 

The E24 BMW 635 CSI was always a most elegant of Grand Tourers but the M 6 variation was really the icing on the cake! it had the power and poise to fulfill BMW's mission statement"

Well this weekend brings a welcome return to a genuinely interesting F1 season 'especially with the introduction of Hy brid turbocharged engines  . nd just like the previous Turbo era back in the 80's reliability is going to be a big factor " judging by the pre season testing the Red Bull Machine seems not at all healthy" by contrast Williams decision to move to Mercedes power seems a very good decision . ith Williams finishing the final test. second fastest behind Mercedes. an't wait !
