Current customer rating:
First of all guys this car DOES NOT HAVE A TITLE. it was lost years ago. This is a 1929 Franklin 4-S. I was told it is a 130 series. you decide. This car has had the same owner for the last 40 years. It was stored in a shed out of all the elements so there fore it is a very solid car. Guys you know how rare a Franklin automobile is but to find one in this good condition is unheard of.
The front fenders are very nice with some very minor damage. no rust through at all that I can see. The cowl has one small hole near the bottom on one side about the size of a nickel. All 4 doors are very. very nice with some of the glass still in them. The running boards are there but think there just boards that have been added over the years. The panel below the doors seems very solid also on both sides. maybe a dime size hole in a place or two near where the fenders bolt on. The rear fenders have some cracks and have been crudely repaired sometime by bolting a small piece of metal where the crack is. Im sure they can be welded and used. don't think there rusted through anywhere. The back of the car has some minor rust and dented up a little on the left side near the bottom. The hood is very nice but the latches are missing. Also the outside door handles are missing unless there in the car somewhere. The doors are tied shut and I don't plan on opening them unless someone needs me to check something. The wood is in super nice condition with only minor places maybe needing attention. On most wooden reinforced cars the body gets all loose and wobbly when it gets some age on it but not this one. You can grab the top of this car. shake it and the whole car moves. not just the top part. Absolutely unbelievable how stout the car is. Looks to have all the top bows in it along with the chicken wire. and the bows are solid. The windshield frame is rusted pretty bad but may be savable if youre good with metal work. The drive train seems to be complete but of course the engine is stuck from sitting. I did notice the starter is missing and theres 2 bolts out of the top of the trans but it seems to shift in the gears ok. Not sure why there missing. maybe been worked on at sometime. who knows. The grille is decent but needs rechromed. No headlights. All 4 wire wheels are there. some better than others. Guys that's about all I know to tell you and let me say I am not a Franklin car expert but ask your questions and I will try to answer them or find someone that can. If youd like pics of any other part that's not shown let me know. This is an amazing solid car guys for a 1929 model. Its super rare. I think there may be one other on ebay. Checkout my feedback guys as it tells the story. You don't get great feedback like that if you lie and cheat people. I tell it like it is. Thanks for reading my novel and don't let this Franklin automobile slip away. may be a long time before another is available.
