classic mg midget 1963 tax exempt

We are reluctantly selling our MG midget which has been in the family for the last 30 years.

Bought in the 80's as a restoration project I have restored this classic car back to her former glory.

We are only selling her due to a new restoration project which we have just finished (a T 2 campervan) and I no longer have the room to house and run both vehicles.

This car is too wonderful to leave in a garage somewhere and it deserves to be loved. albeit by a new owner.

Now for the technical mumbo jumbo.

Exterior

Every panel replaced with genuine parts (new bonnet. new boot. new doors. new wings - front and rear inner and outer. new sills - inner and outer. new floors pans. new A posts) All chrome work has been rechromed to the highest standards (front and rear bumpers) New front grill

Engine

High temperature valve seals

Converted to unleaded

Painted british racing green

New pistons

New big end shells (big end/crank shaft bearings)

Electric fuel pump

New starter motor

New dynamo

New battery (1 month old)

New spark plugs

New distributor cap rotor arm and points

New clutch

New slave cylinder

New master cylinder rubbers (pain in the arse to fit)

New brakes linings cylinders and pipes

New brake master clynder rubbers

Stainless steel exhaust

New suspension leafs rear

New shock absorbers front

All new wheel bearings

4 new original spec dunlop tyres

Interior

All new carpets (front. rear and boot) All original leather seats in immaculate condition New speedo New tachograph New fuel gage Map reading light Reversing light Rewired Picnic hamper boot rack (chrome and wood) Original rear view mirror (cracked) Torneque

Now her bits which are not so good:

Side screens not genuine but we do not use them Rear view mirror cracked Hood miscoloured but waterproof (but we don't use it) Tonneoux cover - don't know we don't use it Brake cylinder leak but a complete new set will go with the car

I have treid to be as honest and thorough as I possibly can be (but I am sure I have forgotten something).

My wife and I have enjoyed many hours out on the road with her and she deserves to be treated with continued love and care.
