A blast from my younger days. a 1974 VW Super beetle convertible. What else can you say? In the 70's there were literally millions of bugs. My first car was a 69 beetle with a rag top and I drove it clean through college. I could yank the motor in minutes and kept it running for 8 years. I did tire of adjusting the valves and the brakes. but it ran when nothing else would. I found this car in the neighborhood and I couldn't resist. Even better than my old bug. this is the super beetle and handles really nice. But it is the full convertible and in excellent shape.

The previous owner used it as a tag car for his motor home. Being overly familiar with bugs. I had to check it out. Ran like new. great shape. Had to take it home. It had the common VW problem. bad pans but was otherwise rust free. The pans were easy to install. I kept the original AM radio but added a better stereo cassette deck (still have my old cassettes) The top is excellent. nbsp;virtually new. I've had a blast reliving my college days and the teenagers won't drive it. Kids these days. I would have killed for a convertible but having boys the car is perhaps a tad feminine. I bet the girls would dig it but at 18 you just don't get it.

This is the last year of the Carburetor. The car shows 14. 00 miles and I would assume it's 114. 00 miles. The Engine runs like new and was obviously rebuilt but I do not have receipts to so I cannot show how many miles since. On the repaint there was no evidence of body repairs and just a couple of very minor dents. The paint laid up nearly perfect and the car has a "like new" appearance on the exterior. The top was certainly redone within a few years and is snug with no defects. The headliner is excellent and the glass is all nice. no cracks or scratches- certainly a new windshield. Heaters and defrosters work and no leaks other than a tiny oil spot under the engine. The pans are new along with a new heater box. which are also reinforced as they take additional stress on a convertible. Interior is decent but the typical VW vynal. Original AM radio in the trunk but has upgraded Alpine cassette deck with 4 speakers. 2 in the dash and 2 behind the ear seat. The seat belt alarm is not hooked up but can be easily. It's ready to cruise anywhere and is quite presentable for car shows. everything is straight and clean on the body.

On the down side. not much. The interior looks good but new seat upholstery would make the car look like new. Virtually no rust or pitting on chrome. Tires are nearly new. Top works perfect but is not electric. I had to put in a new battery and a starter switch relay (common issue) Also used rust oleum around the battery box (battery acid always eats up that area) so the pans will keep looking like new. Defroster blower works great (big plus on super beetle). The front struts are great. If you have owned a bug. it has just enough power to get you around so keep in mind that Bugs are not for everyone.

Last. I'm a 100% seller and I have sold a lot of cars on ebay. This is a hobby and I find some nice rust free western cars.   If the car isn't as advertised you can back out. It is my preference to have the car inspected in Denver as I have no interest in someone buying the car that isn't really into old cars. as they can be a bit "different" than newer cars. I would also prefer that you are familiar with beetles. it's an acquired taste and not for everyone. do contact me through ebay. Last. I like old convertibles so I'll entertain trades. Or even a small suv if its in good shape.
