PHS Documented. Automatic. Califormia Car. 'YS' 400ci. Complete Restoration.

This is a 1967 Pontiac GTO built in Fremont. CA.  I have owned it for about 10 years. It has spent its life in sunny California. The restoration was completed 3 years ago and there have been 6K miles driven on it since then.   Most everything was replaced. restored. repaired or left alone.  The floor pans are all original and rust free. The engine is a 'YS' code 335HP 400ci and transmission is the TH400 His/Her Hurst automatic as per the build sheet that is included with the PHS documentation. The engine block is not the original. but it was taken from an identical 1967 GTO. It took several years and a stack of cash to locate a correct engine and have it rebuilt to stock specifications.  The engine compartment has been correctly detailed (excluding markings and paper tags) as per the GTO restoration guide. including correct belts. hoses. clamps. battery top and spark plug wires. The carburetor (7027262) and intake(9786286) are original and correct. as well as the 670 heads.   It also has original GTO HO exhaust manifolds.

The paint color is very close to 1967 GTO Tyrol Blue. It is a killer Harley Davidson Chopper Blue(Original Color was Cameo White) with 5 coats of clear. 3 coats were applied. dried. sanded then 2 flow coats.   It was voted #5 by the Ultimate GTO picture site.   http://ultimategto. com/cgi-bin/ratemewinner. cgi?year=1967 . The body(and floor pans) was rust free and straight to start. but we blocked it 3 times before final primer. All body gaps are consistent. After the final clear was applied. it was color sanded with 1000. 1500. 2000. 2500 and 3000. Then buffed and polished using the best Merzerna products.   Then new front and rear glass was installed. with the original door and vent glass polished and re-installed. If you have ever had a high quality paint job done on your car. then you know how much money was spent.

The grill inserts. nbsp;trim and bright work are all original (except rear bumper. it is a new aftermarket from AMES) and have been polished. anodized or re-chromed.   The trunk is fully detailed with the original jack instructions and correct fuel vent tube.   The rear tail lamp lenses were replaced with new ones as well as the front directional lenses.   All lamps including back up and license plate function. Wipers and washers work as new. Heater works great.

The front power steering and suspension is stock and was restored with all new springs. ball joints. nbsp;KYB shocks and bushings. The rear suspension has the original sway bar that is part of the rare factory 'Ride and Handling' package(as per the PHS docs).  Stock power drum brakes with correct Delco booster.    All control arm bushings are new.   All body mount bushings are new. The wheels are chromed American Racing TTOs; 15x7. Tires are BFG 235/60/15 and 255/60/15. New body bushings were installed while the body and frame were separated. When we restored the underside. we cleaned the original fuel lines. clamps and clips in place as not to damage them.

The restored black interior is restored to stock. with the exception of a Grant wood steering wheel and RetroSound One audio unit.   I have the original restored wheel. radio and front speaker that will be included.  The door panels. seat covers. carpet. headliner. etc are all new.   The dash was professionally re-chromed and properly restored.   It has a rare dealer installed console mounted vacuum gauge.   The clock is NOS and works. All gauges and lights(including the courtesy. dome ash tray and glove box) function.

It has been in several Good Guys shows and local car shows. nbsp;getting awarded every time.   The GTO drives better than new. and is ready for any long haul.   I have been driving it regularly since it was completed. It is not a 100 point trailer queen. I just had an alignment completed and it drives straight.  

It was appraised at $58. 00 three years ago.    Hagerty value is $53. 00.

I'm not a 'motivated' seller and not in a hurry. so please no low offers.  The vehicle will not be released until all funds are cleared as per my bank.   I've been truthful and accurate in my descriptions so its up to you if you would like to come see it or have it inspected. Its a great car that you would be proud to own. drive and show for years to come.

REASON FOR SELLING?  I need room in my garage for a new project car.    I want this GTO to go to a good home.
