1970 Buick GS Gran Sport Stage 1 Convertible ALL Numbers Matching Real Deal Car for sale

Current customer rating: current rating for this car(4.3) based on 488 votes
This is an original 1970 Buick

Stage 1 convertible. one of only 164 automatic Stage 1 convertibles built in

1970. This car has the Sloan Museum documentation and is listed in the Stage

1 Registry.

Based upon

registry data this may well be the second Stage 1 vehicle produced in the

1970 model year.

The rarity and value of this car

lies in its completely numbers matching original drive train. Very few of the

documented Stage 1 convertibles are able to boast this fact. The engine block

is stamped 4 0 H 102 xxx and is uniquely stamped "SF S" along with a

number 72 between the back bank of cylinders. I have no idea what the 72

represents and welcome your thoughts. The date code of the block is appropriate

at G 2 for second week July 1969. The BB coded Stage 1 transmission also has

the matching VIN 4 0 H 102 xxx. The carb is a factory original 7040246 as is the

distributor with part number 1112016.

This particular car was built for

export from the Flint. Michigan Buick factory and was sold at time of order

thru a dealership in England. I purchased this car in March of 2005 off of

e Bay and imported it back to the United States. I have print copies of the

e Bay ad. all documentation from my purchase from England and Customs

Documentation.

I've restored 3 other cars in the

8 years since I purchased this car and am a bit burned out on the whole

process.

Options on this car were rather

unique in many respects power windows. power door locks. power drum brakes.

rare rim blow steering wheel. factory gauges 4 way power bench seat

This vehicle is a restoration

project. every metal panel needs attention but they are all included along

with plenty of extras. There are the original 1970 fenders along with a pair

of 1970 fenders from California. extra doors. restored 1970 Core Support. New

full floor pans and a full trunk pan kit are included. I also purchased

completely restored power window motors correct part numbers etc/power door

lock actuators all new wiring in factory correct appearance and NOS

switches. the set up should be complete and just a plug and play to aid in

the restoration (big money spent here).

There are a couple pictures of various boxed and labeled items but

they don't scratch the surface of all that is included in this purchase.

When I received the car and took

inventory of the parts I only noticed a few missing components: the torque

convertor. the fan shroud and the air cleaner - I've replaced the air

cleaner. I've had several Buicks over the years and own a few others. I have

lots of extra parts and pieces I will include with the project. it's time for

me to thin things out a bit.

I'm willing and able to answer any questions

you may have and welcome inspection of the vehicle.

The vehicle

is being sold as is where is. the winning bid is not a right of inspection I consider

it to be a contract.

I will be fair.

honest and forthcoming and ask the same in return.

Delivery is the sole responsibility of the winning bidder.

I will sell the vehicle internationally and will assist buyer as I can with arrangements.

Comments and questions to the seller:

from den, dated 24 november 2016
Hi sounds like a lot of work.lol. The stage one had special cylinder heads probably the most important aspect as they were often slavaged for other builds if the body was damaged,or if the seller wanted money and didn't think it was important to have the original heads. do you have the original heads and internals ,cam, pistons etc. Thanks,Den

from Steve S, dated 28 august 2015
i have a question reguarding the cars authenticity , I was under the assumption all 1970 stage 1 cars were built in flint michigan and there has to be the 0H in the vin the 0 for 1970 and H flint michigan ,I had a code 48 sherwood green 70 stage 1 convertible that was stolen from me 446670H271502
