History
When the restoration took place. the purchaser bought the car with no paperwork
(it had been lost by the previous owner) and a new V5 was applied for.
However. this XR2 was stripped to a bare shell. repainted in
original sunburst red. and restored with many brand
new genuine original parts.

The XR2 has a fully detailed engine bay and underneath
has been finished to a very high standard!

Body & Paintwork
The car benefits from a recent repaint in the original Sunburst Red colour.
the engine bay. underside. and boot floor all look as good as the top side of the car.

The car has no rust. and no ‘bubbling' of the paint in any areas.
All sills are solid. as is the whole underside of the car.
all wheel arch mouldings are undamaged and the
spoiler is in good condition also.

Glass. handles. lights & badges are all in excellent condition.

Interior & Trim
The interior of the XR2 is overall very good for a car of this age.
Headlining. Carpet. and trim are in good condition. the seats have
no rips or tears. although the drivers seat base does have
some small holes in the base as shown in the pictures.

All switches work as they should. and the soft finish dashboard
with red surround is in great condition.

The parcel shelf is intact. straight and complete with the correct hangers.

Engine
The engine was rebuilt and also detailed
during the restoration. and runs very well.
The engine has no unusual noises. and pulls well
through the gears. with its ample 84BHP.

The four speed synchromesh gearbox with
remote shift functions without crunches or whines.

Running Gear
The car drives as it should. all brakes are new.
and work perfectly well. steering is ‘precise' and
as you would expect from a lightweight 80′s ‘Hot Hatch'.

The majority of suspension bushes have been replaced with
Polybushes to help tighten the feel of the car and all other
bushes have been replaced with new standard items.

Original Pepperpot alloy wheels have been painted and
are in un-marked condition. with new tyres fitted.

The car drives nicely overall. and is smooth with
only the setting of the tracking required.
