        ####  SELLING FOR A FRIEND. BUT I CAN ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE  ####

As I understand it in 1939 Studebaker sold less than 500 cars. so this is a rare car as well as being the first year for the newly designed Champion.

This Studebaker is a 1939 Champion 2 Door Club Sedan Custom.   It is VERY VERY original.   The car runs and drives and everything works as it should.   I would call it a survivor.   The car has had plenty of time and money spent on it. so you can just enjoy it as-is.   The only modification to the car was to add a more modern dual chamber brake master cylinder as a safety precaution.   Nothing was butchered. and it could be put right back to factory if you want.   The car is basically a time capsule.   This car was last registered by its original owner in North Carolina in 1970-1971. and then was stored away in a building for 40 years.   A couple of years ago a Studebaker enthusiast here in Illinois found out about the car and bought it from the Son / Grandson of the original owner.   The car was then gone through and had the following done:

-          All of the brake system was replaced (lines / hoses / hubs/bearings / etc. ) and the system was upgraded with a 60's style dual chamber brake master cylinder as a safety precaution. (I have pictures and part numbers for the parts used in the conversion)

-          The differential was gone through

-          Engine was tuned up

-          Fuel tank was removed / cleaned / lined

-          Carburetor was rebuilt

-          Exhaust was repaired

-          New battery (just recently)

-          Tune-up items

-          Belts/hoses

The car was then registered and driven here in Illinois. and is in running / driving condition.

Other than that the car is as it left the factory in 1939

-          Headlights / taillight work

-          Gauges all work

-          Horn works

-          Speedometer works

-          Heater works

-          Original factory information card comes with the car…. It still has the Federal use tax stamp affixed to it!!!!

The car starts right up and runs and drives just fine. and the brakes work fine.

The car is solid as can be. including the underside…. There are only (2) small rust holes in the body. and they are both shown in the pictures.   There is also a small tear forming on the right front fender (under the duct tape).

I also have the following upgrade parts for the car

-          A full set of 15” wheels (need new tires) if you want to upgrade from the 14” ones.

-          A factory optional overdrive transmission that you could order with this car when it was new.

CAR IS LOCATED IN QUINCY IL (ZIP CODE 62301)

CAR IS SOLD AS-IS AND DOES NOT HAVE ANY WARRANTY

SHIPPING CHARGES ARE THE BUYERS RESPONSIBILITY

IF YOU PICK IT UP IN PERSON. BRING CASH

IF YOU ARE HAVING IT SHIPPED TO YOU…. THE CAR DOESN'T LEAVE MY SIGHT UNTIL YOUR CHECK / WIRE TRANSFER HAS CLEARED MY BANK
