1968 International 1100 3/4 ton pickup Original Family Ownership

Sale price: $2,060.55 make an offer

Seller's notes: "Re-painted in 2007 and parked indoors and not driven since in dry Reno, Nevada climate. Rust in cowl and lower fenders was fixed at that time. Has rust damage in leading edge of bed and tailgate is bent. Otherwise very very straight and original truck. Fuel tank was recently removed, cleaned and re-painted; radiator re-cored, new battery. Truck runs okay, needs the carburetor re-built. Has always been tempermental to start anyways. Rear main seal leaks oil. Tires have very few miles on them but are ten+ years old. Brakes appear to be fine. Fluids should probably be changed - half day's labor and you should be ready to out-work just about any other truck on the road. This is a great old heavy duty vehicle."

My parents and now I have owned this 1968 International Harvester 1100 3/4-ton pickup since new. Comes with manuals (well used and worn). some spares including all the parts to convert it to power steering - which you probably want to do unless you want to cancel your gym membership - this thing is a bear at low speeds - and whatever else we can find that goes with it. Used. loved and generally a great truck for over forty years now.

In 2007 I took it to SprayCraft in Sparks and spent $2700 on the paint. Brought it back to a friend's garage and parked it. where it's been sitting ever since. That's vintage 2007 dust you see on it! Just did a light re-assembly on it in January. cleaned up the fuel & cooling systems and put a new battery in it. Also replaced the muffler canister at this time. It could use some more attention. particularly to the carburetor which either needs to be rebuilt or replaced. I don't have the time to work on it and my friend wants his garage space back. So it's time for it to go.

The 304cc V-8 motor was rebuilt in the mid-80's - mileage unknown at the time and it has had continual maintenance throughout it's life. The least attention it's had have been over the past seven years. but fortunately it's been parked inside. I think with a day's work it could be completely back on the road - change the filters. rebuild or replace the carb. probably tune up the brakes. check the fluid level in the trans and rear end and it should be good. From there one could restore the inside of the bed and tailgate. I didn't bother as I figured we'd just scratch it up again hauling stuff. And. boy. does a 3/4 ton IH haul stuff. I can't guarantee it but I bet you could get about 2. 5X that much weight in it before it'd complain.
