Plymouth : Fury FURY

 This is one of my cars that I said I'd never sell. but we're buying a new house and it's gotta go!

1956 Plymouth Fury.   303 CI dual quad power pack P29 engine.   Engine fully. professionally rebuilt to stock specs except a slightly hotter ISKY mechanical cam.   The only non-original engine parts are the Edelbrock carbs and air cleaners.   I have rebuildable cores of the stock carbs.

This is a manual transmission car with dual quads. nbsp;overdrive. and air conditioning.   Some might tell you that overdrive was not available. but I have spoken to the second owner who confirms it was on the car when he purchased it in the '80.   YOU WILL NOT FIND ANOTHER with this combo! 

Dealer installed A/C upgraded to R134 last summer. works great.

2nd owner restored the body to a high level in 1988.   I am the 4th owner.   It still presents extremely well but the paint is showing some age in spots (crazing).  

Chrome is perfect.   Glass is perfect.   Everything works except radio.

The is a bit of rust in the left rear body mount pocket (in trunk).   Not an issue to me. and not worth messing with in my opinion.

Interior needs to be redone.   Original headliner is presentable. but aged.   One small hole in the passenger side rear by the package shelf.

At some point black vinyl seat covers were installed on the car. and the door panels were dyed to match.   When I purchased the car. I removed to covers to find the original upholstery underneath.   The back seat shows wear and staining. nbsp;and front needs to be re-upholstered for sure.   I haven't done it because there are no good. affordable interior guys in my area.   The door panels and seat upholstery is available from SMS.

I have a set of nearly perfect original wheel covers. and tons of spare parts that go along with the car.

The car runs and drives very well.   I drive this car regularly and would not hesitate to drive it across the country.   in fact I did once in 2011.   It is driven regularly and maintained as such.   It's no trailer queen. but it's a damn nice car.
