Please note that experience shows us that the photobucket of over 100 large pixel pictures posted here are in most cases best viewed and downloaded using the very latest and most updated version of the 'Firefox' browser as some other browsers and especially older browser versions are not capable of accommodating the size of the download. Over the years our clients have overwhelmingly been appreciative of our many unaltered large pixel photos posted in our ads and our feedback has been that it is very rare that a seller will post all but the most flattering of photographs. We prefer to expose the complete roll of film taken of the car. in sometimes unflattering but natural sunlight. in order for our prospective buyers to be able to see true and reliable images of the car advertised and that is the reason for some seemingly duplicated shots. We trust you will agree.

'Starmist White over Saturn Gold' (Color code 77) paint with a gorgeous condition and mostly all original and unrestored 'Saturn Gold & Black' leather interior. with Turbo-Drive automatic transmission. a split bench seat. rare factory option Automatic Headlight Dimmer. Dual Control Heater &

Sold new at 'Kitchens Mercury Edsel Lincoln' of Visalia. California and still boasting its original California black license plates and dealer license frames and in this very striking original factory two-tone color combination. Lincoln's largest array of colors were offered in 1957 and this particular combination was used on the front page of the Lincoln brochure included in the sale. Also included is the original owners handbook and other period advertisements and leaflets.
Lincoln's new luxurious premium series for 1956-7 regulated the Capri to second-class status! The all new design featured a longer. lower. wider and heavier body typical of the late '50's styling but with a brand new for 1956 'True Power' V 8 with 285 HP which rose to 300 HP in 1957! Styling was right up to date too with peaked headlamps. partially wrapped rear wheel openings. a wrapped windshield and a long deck tapering to give the straight through rear fenders a hint of fins. The 1957 facelift brought handsomely designed stacked quad headlamps within the Lincoln 'Quadra-Lite' grille and much more prominent canted tailfins. The lower lights actually functioned as driving lights but they gave the car its more modern appearance. A short lived design. it was replaced in 1958 by a much larger and heavier utilitarian unit construction model with controversial styling which was hard to differentiate from its cousin the Continental.
These cars were notorious for rust problems making this particular example exceptionally rare and unusual. obviously an always garaged original southern California example with no signs of any accidents or rust ever! The floor boards. trunk
and all the typical rust-prone
areas are solid and rust-free.
The car has a beautiful and very professional repaint in its original 'Starmist White over Saturn Gold'
color paint and has a beautiful matching two tone 'Saturn Gold & Black' leather interior with all its original factory instrumentation intact including the 'Town & Country' radio and a beautiful padded dashboard. all of which are in quite
exceptional and original
specification condition
throughout. All the
chrome is also in absolutely
exceptional
condition with no peeling or pitting and which must have been rechromed at some point.
The 368 c. i. V 8 engine is extremely
strong and
powerful and sounds absolutely magnificent and this particular car
also drives absolutely magnificently - must be driven to be believed - does
not miss a beat and purrs like a kitten - drives straight as an arrow
with no strange road wobbles. shakes or rattles - a truly remarkable
daily driver that will give any modern day car a run for it's money! The
transmission shifts smoothly through the gears and the car is an
absolute pleasure to drive! The car was recently fully serviced at our 'AAA' rated Santa Monica mechanics. 'Morejoy Automotive' where it received a new exhaust system. new brake booster/master cylinder. brake fluid flush. coolant service. oil service. tire rotation and new heater core. (Cost $2. 14). We also had the transmission rebuilt. Rare with these particularly sophisticated cars. all the options and gauges work including all
the
power options! The car has its original spare wheel and jack in the
truck.
This is an extraordinarily rare
opportunity to own a great daily driving and mostly all original and unrestored example
of a rust free 1957 Lincoln Premiere 2 Door Hardtop Coupe in a very striking and factory original two-tone color combination! A true all American classic car for the Lincoln enthusiast or any classic car enthusiast to enjoy today!
