BODY:  The original fiberglass body is straight with reasonable gaps.   The paint has good overall shine showing only minor defects up close.   Not show condition but very presentable and generally too good to require a repaint.   The glass. nbsp;trim. and bumpers are also in good to excellent condition.

CHASSIS:  The underbody is steel but has had some misc. patches over the years which include some fiberglass repairs (see photos).   The front edge of the lower trunk floor has some rust.   The passenger side floor pan on top looks quite good but the drivers side has had some misc. repairs.   The exterior rocker panels are generally good showing minor signs of rust or repair.   Overall. this chassis appears structurally safe but has miscellaneous repair patches as described above.   The floors should be better repaired or replaced by anyone who wants a show car.   These floors are presentable for someone who wants a daily driver.

MECHANICAL:  Excellent overall mechanical condition including strong running engine with a new fuel pump.   The factory four speed transmission has a new clutch disc.   The car handles well with a solid dual exhaust system. Installing the new clutch disc is a big job in a Sonett and usually requires pulling the front shroud. nbsp;gearbox. nbsp;and engine.   This repair alone could cost nearly $1000 if a Saab dealer performed the replacement.   The brakes function very well with a rebuilt brake master cylinder and new rear brake shoes.   This is an unusual vehicle having an original compact "Ford" V-4 engine and front wheel drive.   The original "soccer ball" style wheels & spare are very good with like new tires showing minimal wear.  The electrical system . eater. nbsp;and all other components are in good to excellent condition.   Only the seat belt warning light indicator is missing.

INTERIOR:  All instruments are functioning properly with the odometer showing 80. 16 miles.   I purchased the car last ear with the title dated 2007 and showing 79. 98 miles.   I believe the mileage is original but have no further documentation supporting the mileage history from new.   The interior is essentially original including seat shells. door panels. rear trunk panels. and carpets.   The seat center trim material is not original and was replaced by a previous owner.   The headliner is in good condition but may have also been redone at some point prior to my purchase.   The dash is original and in good to excellent condition.

OVERALL: My Sonett should be considered an excellent car for use as a driver with no known mechanical or electrical problems.   Yes. I had one in College in the 80's and really liked it as I reside in Iowa and these are one of the better sports cars for both summer AND winter driving.   These cars are famous for their winter drivability and were often raced in ice events.   I own two Sonett's & I have other old cars but am only keeping one Sonett to satisfy my mid-life crisis.   Please feel free to call me at 319-721-4356.   All bids are considered binding and . of course. the DEPOSIT IS NON-REFUNDABLE.   Please don't hesitate to come view or test drive the car.   My reserve is not disclosed but is less than I have invested.
