Rochdale Olympic Phase 1 modified unique project to complete

Supercharged LSD 5 speed all new reconditioned tax exempt

Registered in 1968 I have the green log book on file. 1 previous registered owner who built the car originally with a letter of provenance from him & V5c now in my name.

Pictures are self-explanatory of current condition. not shinny as covered in dust incl engine bay needs an airline blow down.

See Retro Rides Build thread for my restoration to date and modifications.

The Olympic is now mechanically complete and all body modifications done and professional paint in Ferrari Indianapolis. wheels reconditioned new tyres. I could go on and on but it would just depress me further . It has been driven on a private test track to prove the car. no leaks experienced or other mechanical issues.

Acceleration can only be described as phenomenal. excellent low engulfing seating position. handling excellent and braking spot on. I am 6'2” or 188cm and fit in plenty of leg. head & elbow.

It is NOT MOT'd yet and NO you can't drive it home unless you are insane J

2 sets of keys. ignition and doors are same key. locking boot access and petrol cap.

Front inner arches are Porsche 944 and are removable for engine maintenance access due to small bonnet aperture and a spare pair are provided just in case.

Work required. this does not cover every single nut and bolt and detail so if you are emailing to nit-pick I will just ignore you. You need to have experience of restoring cars or be able to pay someone to do it. Tax exempt and my insurance is £145 fully comp (Adrian Flux) for road use although I have not used it on the road.

Main things to complete

Air conditioning pipes to pump and condenser & ducts – if you decide you want the air con or take it out?

Interior need trimming out. no door cards & interior door handle needs connecting (included).

No carpets although has sound deadening on bulkhead and tunnel. no headlining - tip on Rochdale owners club how to do this. Dashboard bare aluminium so you may want to trim with material.

Included are good condition black leather Barabus seats to replace those fitted in the pictures.

All electrics for lights. engine management. dials and switches (column mounted) etc. are connected up. Required: simple connection or switches for electric windows (have been tested) just need switches (provided) in console to operate. Door mirrors have amber repeater LED's need just connecting to original wing repeater on loom plug. simple. So no complex electrical or loom wiring just some tidying.

Several boxes of internal bits are provided. like switches courtesy lights. self-dipping rear view mirror all at your discretion if you use or not. You will need some door seal rubbers and a couple of other bits but even if you can't do it. I estimate £1000 will have a trimmer finish the interior to a very good standard. Due to any build of this type there may be the odd small paint mark or chip that will need refinishing; just to be clear I'm not talking scratches or gouges here. unless you make them!

For sale due to my change in marital status and subsequent moving house. This was my dream car project and has already been over 2 years in the making. I will accept enquiries from Europe as I know many keen enthusiast of British classics out there. Payment will only be accepted in GBP cash.

Everyone who has seen it. after puzzling about what it is. has said it is a beautiful car to behold; judge for yourself. I think it looks even better for real than in my cramped pictures.   This is not a cheap bit of rubbish but will be a totally unique and very rare historic British classic but with modern mechanics. brakes and approx. 180bhp! And the body will not rust yippee! The donor is virtually entirely MX5 so very reliable and cheaply and widely available parts to maintain whilst having excellent handling characteristics. For practicality it has a boot opening and you could get the weekly shop in or a suitcase plus space behind the seats or parcel shelf for coats and bags etc.

You will be wasting your time with daft offers as you will be ignored. despite the circumstances I would rather keep it in storage. I want it to go to an enthusiast who will complete it and value its use. If you convince me you are genuine I will give you my email and phone number and you can come and view before you part with any cash.

The car is located in York. so from Europe. Kingston upon Hull provides a ferry port you need to collect it I WILL NOT SHIP.
