71 DODGE DEMON KING OF STREET DRAG CAR for sale
Current customer rating: (506 votes ) based onThis is a 1971 Dodge Demon. The car was raced in the Mopar King of the Street series. I am the owner that raced the car in that series. The car has a long history and has tons and tons of money spent on it. The car has been featured in Mopar action and Mopar muscle magazines. The car was built by Bevis Built racecars in Texas. The car has the stock rear frame rails in it. The car was built for the old limited street NMCA rules that required the stock rear frame rails and a true 10. 5 tire not a W. The car has an all chrome molly tube cage. The car has a super heavy-duty four link with pro-stock type hiem joints. The car has a 9-inch rear axle with all Mark Williams components. including 40 splined gun drilled axles. pro 4. 10 gear. light weight spool. and an aluminum center section. The car has an aluminum pro stock drive shaft. The car has double adjustable shocks on all four corners and comes with extra springs for suspension tuning.
The stock K member has been used as according to the limited street rules. It has been lightened and the car has tubular A arms. The car has Lamb brakes and braded steel lines.
The engine is a 499 ci low-deck big block Chrysler engine. It has B1 heads and they have the individual T&D rockers because these heads have the valves moved. The heads where done by Adger Smith in Texarkana TX. Nelson Performance in Florida did the engine. The engine is fresh including a new crank. rods. and pistons. The engine has way too much stuff done to it to list here. but it made 1254hp on both the plate and the fogger.
The only run time on the engine is dyno time.
The car has a Race Pak computer on board to monitor the workings of the car. It has the upgraded option of individual EGT”s in every header tube. The cooling system is an Indy reverse flow system with coolant exits between the center two cylinders to improve head cooling. The engine has a Steffs vacuum pump and all the associated accessories that go with it. The fuel system has two separate fuel systems on it. one for the nitrous and one for the motor. It has separate five gallon fuel cells. two BG400 fuel pumps. both recently rebuilt. BG four port regulators. and all of this had been done with braded steel hoses and Earl's fittings. Both systems have fuel returns. The nitrous system is the same. two complete systems. one for the plate. and one for the fogger. Both have been flowed and tuned to the correct ratio. The tune that is in the car now is the tune that made the 1254hp. The carburetor was matched to the engine and tuned buy Stealth carburetors in Cleveland.
The ignition is a brand new MSD 7AL-3 with an MSD crank trigger. This and almost all of the gauges are brand new.
The transmission is a Tranzact of Indy nitrous brake transmission. It has Torrington bearings. aluminum drum. and a 904 low gear set. It has hardened input and output shafts; it has a PTC converter built specially for this car. I had two built at the same time and both go with the car. The car has Hole Shot five star wheels and comes with two sets of rears. one set has 10. 5 31W's. and the other has the same size ET streets.
The car has gone back-to-back 8. 0's at 175mph. The car runs close to 5. 0 in the 1/8th.
There has been so much money spent on this car. it boggles the mind. I am selling this car due to a business closing. I have set the starting bid at 22000. 00. This a super low price for this type of car. Please understand if you bid on this car you have bought it. There is no reserve at that starting bid.
I welcome inspections. and I will try to answer any questions.
