Beautiful 1977 MGB-GT 1800 cc
Here for auction is my lovely 1977 MGB GT. Finished in black with gold decals. this striking MGB represents the last of the true British sports cars. Although some people don't like the rubber bumper cars as much. they are to me the best usable classic MG you can buy. and certainly the best value. The black and gold colour scheme is very striking and retro. and compliments the rubber bumpers perfectly. It's almost reminiscent of the John Player Special cars of the same era. Prices of these classic MG's are definitely on the rise. and a good example will soon be a very sought after machine. This is the perfect everyday classic car. blending practicality with its 4 seats. usability with its economic 1800 cc engine. and that wind in your hair feeling you usually only get from a convertible. due to its Everflex Webasto style opening roof and wind deflector.
Recent work includes -
New full stainless steel exhaust and fittings Rear leaf springs lowered to chrome bumper ride height New front springs lowered to chrome bumper ride height New Anti-roll bar bushes and links All seats fully re-trimmed in black leatherette L. E 5 spoke alloy wheels (only fitted to the last MGB's)Refurbished rear quarter trims Mota-lita steering wheel New Fuel tank and fuel pump New fuel tank cap Wiper arms and blades Full service and carburetor mixture set Uprated Ignition leads New Distributor Aluminium bonnet
As you can see it's had a lot of work. and now needs nothing other than a caring new owner that can enjoy the car in the coming year. It runs and drives beautifully. holding good oil pressure and temperature even in traffic. I recently completed a 400 mile drive in the car and it was a pleasure. The overdrive engages perfectly and ensures comfortable cruising at motorway speeds. Everything electrically works as it should. and the Everflex roof is good and tight with no leaks. Even the heater is lovely and hot. It really is a classic car you could use every day.
Being a 37 year old car there are some marks on the bodywork although there is definitely no corrosion. There are obviously a few stone chips and marks in the paint. mainly on the bonnet. Although as the pictures show. they don't detract from the overall look of the car.
Any questions please don't hesitate to ask.
