I assure you it'll be well worth reading as you'll soon understand quite how much work has gone into making this plain white VW BEETLE a real HERBIE!

Herbie had a 1. 2L engine originally. I've replaced this with a 1. 6L twin-port that is still in warranty! Herbie is in superb driving condition and excellent aesthetic condition! Herbie overtime has had a new re-furbished engine that is still under warranty! All the electrics and wiring are new including a superb sound system with detachable fascia and remote control including CD. AM/FM stereo. USB and SD Card input as well as auxiliary input (cable included) for your iPod/other devices. The front boot has been carpeted and a hatch door fitted behind the back seat together with stereo speakers allowing extra storage space. This 1. 6L Herbie drives superbly and has recently had a full service including an alternator conversion kit (as pictured). The engine is tuned and wonderful to listen too as well as drive! All electrics; lights. indicators. beams. ignition. sound. and horn are in perfect working order.

Paperwork
Herbie comes with all receipts of all the major engineering work that has been done over time. Also comes complete with MOT and logbook V5C. and a receipt indicating the correct colour paint code. Also included is the receipt and documentation of the new re-furbished engine installed including warranty (details below).

Tax
Tax Exempt! Herbie will come taxed until April 2014. As of April 2014. new DVLA rulings apply stating vehicles made prior 1974 will be classified as ‘Historic' and therefore are TAX EXEMPT. So you will never have to pay on tax on Herbie!


Warranty
On the MOT certificate the mileage reads:
11/05/2011: 36. 24
18/10/2013: 36. 39

A new re-furbished engine was fitted 16/08/2011 (documentation and receipt included). The warranty is guaranteed from ‘The Engine Shop' for 12 months/12. 00 miles. Herbie has not exceeded that millage at all since the engine was fitted so the engine is still in warranty. The warranty documentation including breakdown and serial number is included with the sale.

Modifications
This is a 1973 registered VW Beetle white. When purchased there were no bumpers. a different rear engine lid and apron. and different bonnet and front wings to accommodate lights of a different model. Seen in the pictures of paperwork. you can see a document named ‘Herbie Handbook'. I'm a Herbie Fan and together with information from other Herbie Fans online. I've compiled this ‘Herbie Handbook' documenting what makes a 100% replica of a Herbie car; from the chrome bumpers to all the trimmings that makes a beetle into a Herbie; so I can assure you. you're purchasing a great beetle in superb condition and a great Herbie lookalike. To summarise; a true Herbie is a VW Beetle that is a 1963-1966 model rag-top (sunroof). with Chrome Towel-Rail bumpers. twin tail exhaust pipes. sloping headlights and sloping wings with a rear pope-nosed engine lid. Colour: pearl white. This Herbie has been modified to the specifications as near as. Check google images and the movie posters for verification!

I've made Herbie into a Herbie by purchasing and installing twin tail exhaust pipes. front sloping wings and re-painting them and then buying brand new front sloping head-lights as well as Towel Rail California style bumpers (very rare). I've installed a pope-nose engine lid. The paint colours have been matched exactly! Pearl White! The rear engine apron has been taken off and a new one has been welded on to accommodate the pope-nosed engine lid. Other Herbie's online do not have the correct specifications to look like a Herbie. pope-nosed lid is a major specification to being a HERBIE! Herbie has been re-carpeted and a new set of three-point seats have been installed together with white/blue leather seat covers as seen. A new steering wheel has been installed with Herbie's famous D-Ring style hoot-horn and rare Wolfsburg logo in the centre. The horn is always requested to be heard by other drivers when on the road!

This Herbie does not have a rag-top sunroof. but this is merely a piece of cloth applied to the roof that is made to look like it has a rag-top sun roof. You wouldn't know the difference! The decals have been purchased from an official designer and applied to the exact measurements supplied in the ‘Herbie Handbook' from observant fans such as myself! You also get two comfy cushions in the back-seat that has Herbie logo's and stripes printed on them. The rear seats have the original seat belts you have to manually adjust. but for the front passenger and driver's side; I've installed modern barrel style pull/tug seat belts. As pictured. I've placed leather Herbie style covers on the seat-belt straps at the front. Herbie has clear indicator shades that I have replaced from the old amber ones. I've also installed a set of blue/white door panels as pictured. I've left Herbie with only the one wing mirror (driver's side) but have installed a passenger side sun-visor. The roof material inside the car is in clean perfect condition. I've installed a new windscreen washer. pump. and switch (as pictured)



Herbie is kept garaged every night away from the night air. and kept garaged daily during the week. Herbie is only driven on weekends mostly.


Negatives
Just two to mention but I assure you. they do not break any enjoyment from this great Herbie!
The heat exchangers are installed but not connected. Simply needs someone to purchase a heat exchanger connector kit (very cheap) and install themselves/have someone else install for them (not essential to the driving experience).
There are two knuckle sized pieces of rust on the border between the roof and side of Herbie. Not noticeable from any distance hence the two images applied in the link above are close up.
I'm an honest man and thought of nothing but mention these two tiny flaws. They will not despair your driving experience/level of enjoyment with Herbie at all!
