This Mustang Fastback 2+2 “A”-Code was originally built at the Ford Plant in San Jose in May 26. 1965 containing a 289 CID 4 bbl with a 4-Speed transmission.
Now. created as a beautiful tribute to the GT 350. it has all the power that you would expect from a muscle car and the styling of a classic Mustang deluxe interior from 1965. It features a custom built (in 2012) JBA high-performance 302 V-8 engine equipped with an aluminum dual plane intake manifold with matching Cobra valve covers. a Cobra 2 x 4 oval air cleaner. JBA mid-length headers running into stainless 2 ½” dual exhaust with 3” custom trumpet JBA GT polished stainless tips. Originally being a 4-speed car. it was converted into a C-4 automatic transmission with a 3. 00:1 ratio 9” rear-end.
This car features power steering. front disc brakes. and 225/70/14 BFG radial tires on factory 5-Finger GT steel wheels. The interior trim function. the mechanical accessories. and electrical systems are in great working condition as well with all headlights. taillights. and signal lights working properly. This car is in pristine condition with deep '03 Cobra Sonic Blue color applied in 2010 by Pat at Pat's Custom Cars in Ramona. CA.
The steel Mustang's original body was soda-blasted and stripped to bare metal prior to painting and body work. It maintains the original metal floor. fenders. doors. and quarter panels and has had no major body damage. no rust. or any other major metal work repairs over the course of the last 50 years.
Initially. it was owned out of El Cajon. California with its original Dark Forrest Green and Black interior. Today. it has the GT grill. fog light assembly. silver Shelby Le Mans racing stripes. and silver painted GT 350 side stripes in celebration of heritage between GT and Shelby clone. The two-tone “Pony” interior features a cream and blue accent color interior and the 2+2 fold-down rear seat is fully restored. There are no dents. dings or scratches. just straight beautiful Mustang lines. Every detail was professionally completed. All that is missing is the next car enthusiast to tame this open-range Mustang!
