This 1930 Rolls-Royce Phantom II was originally bodied with Weymann-patent fabric-covered 4 door saloon coachwork by Mulliners of Birmingham.  After it was bodsied in the 1950s with this Shooting Brake coachwork. it was owned by the Earl of Moray. a descendant of King James V of Scotland and holder of a title first established by Scotland's King Robert I (Robert the Bruce) in 1312.  During his ownership. it would have been a distinctive. practical. yet also prestigious adjunct to the family's holdings in the Inner Moray firth.  It would have been particularly suited to the family's salmon fishing on the Findhorn and the Teith.

The Phantom II incorporated many changes designed to perfect the already nearly perfect Phantom. including unit construction of the engine. clutch and gearbox; open driveshaft; and revised rear suspension with semi-elliptical leaf springs.  The entire frame structure was strengthened and lowered.  Quality. reliability and durability were essential characteristics of the Phantom II. ensuring the longevity of many chassis as well as the Phantom II's adaptability to a wide variety of applications.

Charles Bickley in Florida commenced a thorough restoration in the late 1980s and displayed the car in his Woodie World Museum.  Later it was once again meticulously restored in Brewster Green with black leather upholstery;  special attention was given to its exceptional woodwork.  It has a beautiful walnut burl dashboard. restored windshield visor. top-hinged opening windshield. passenger's Raydyot spotlight. single driving light. Lucas headlights. single sidemounted spare on the left. fender mirrors and three-row seating.  The wood of the body and interior is finished to extremely high standards.

It has been shown in Rolls-Royce Owners Club events. and it was a participant in Classic Car Club of America CARavans. It is not only a superb showpiece. but also a well-sorted and reliable performer with Scottish peerage ownership history.

This Rolls-Royce Phantom II is known to have been delivered as a Weymann fabric saloon. originally through Birmingham UK agents. George Heath Limited in January 1930 to its first owner S. C. Harrison. After just ten months. the car was transferred to a new owner. W. F. Player of Staunton grange in Nottingham.

In the 1950s. the car was put into new service and with the updated Shooting Brake coachwork which it retains in modern times.

In 1962. the car was in the car of the Earl of Moray of Scotland. It later left the UK and was acquired by Charles Bickley in Florida and became part of his 'Woodie World' museum. While in Bickley's care. the car was given a comprehensive restoration in the early 1980s.

This car has many period accessories including its tinted windshield visor. side mounted sport light. a single Trippe driving light and an unusual feature of marker lamps recessed into the front fenders.

In 2012 the car was offered for sale at the Quail Lodge Sale in Carmel. CA presented by Bonhams. The car was estimated to sell for $180. 00 - $220. 00. As bidding came to a close. the car failed to find a buyer willing to satisfy its reserve. It would leave the auction unsold
