In the 1930 s and 1940 s. the term hot rod began to be used to identify a car that had been “hopped up” by modifying the engine in various ways to achieve higher performance and linear speed.
The first hot rods were old cars modified to reduce weight and Roadsters were the cars of choice because they were light.
In the 1940 s. the '32 Ford became the ideal hot rod.
Rodders would strip weight off this readily available car and hop up the engine.
This gorgeous. one owner. black 32 Ford Dearborn Roadster is a Dearborn Deuce all steel. m anufactured in 2005 by Hot Rods & Horsepower. LLC (Branford. CT)
