The first generation of Ford Mustangs was manufactured by Ford from 1964-73. The introduction of the Mustang created a new class of automobile known as the Pony Car. The Mustang's styling with its long hood and short deck proved wildly popular and inspired a host of imitators.
It was initially introduced as a hardtop and convertible with the fastback version put on sale the following year. At the time of its introduction. the Mustang—sharing its underpinnings with the Falcon—was slotted into a compact car segment.
This fantastic Mustang you see pictured has had the honor of a nut-and-bolt restoration. Under the hood is a later 302-CID V 8 engine mated with a — unique — five-speed manual Tremec transmission. This helps the muscle car run smoothly. and the transmission and strong engine give this pony power on the open road. The Northern aluminum radiator will help manage the temperature.
The interior is an elegant black vinyl that was restored and looks impeccable. After-market digital gauges give this car a futuristic feel in its 1965 body. The Grant steering wheel brings the interior package together and compliments the 2+2 backseat. The trunk is tidy and looks freshly lined.
The exterior is a stunning Phoenician Yellow with dual metallic Caspian Blue racing stripes. The chrome bumpers are in excellent condition and show only very minor pitting from usage. which is to be expected on a 50-year old car. The GT fog lights will light the way on a late-night cruise.
Whether on the race track or in the fast lane. this wonderfully restored '65 Mustang Fastback will turn heads as it rushes by. VIN is 5 F 09 C 369504. and mileage currently reads 931 on a clear Kansas title. the same since the car's full restoration. GET OUT AND DRIVE!
