In 1980. Ferrari introduced a replacement to the aging Bertone designed 308GT4 at the Geneva Auto Salon. The Mondial 8 Coupe’ was a departure from the previous names Ferrari gave to their road cars. the name derived from their 1950’s 500 Mondial race car. The Mondial was designed by the already familiar Pininfarina and the bodies were coach built by Carrozzeria Scaglietti. The bodies were then sent to the factory and draped over a new box section space frame matted to the current 308 V8 engine. The new car was also the first to have the engine. gearbox and rear suspension mounted on a detachable steel sub frame. The Mondial is considered to be Ferrari’s most user friendly and practical models ever made. and offered a considerable seating for 4. By 1982 an all new engine was introduced to the Mondial line. the “Quattrovalvole” which gave 4 valves per cylinder and 240hp. Popularity rose even more for the Mondial when Ferrari introduced the car in Cabriolet form. Ferrari changed the model once more to keep a fresh look alongside its new 328 model. The Mondial 3. 2 was introduced at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1985 with a small face lift front and rear and increasing the bore and stroke to 3. 2 litres and 266hp. Many Ferrari aficionados say that the Mondial 3. 2 is the best iteration of the line because of the relatively low maintenance cost and best performance of the earlier cars before the Mondial T came into production for 1989.

 

European Motor Studio is proud to offer this stunning Rosso Corsa over Tan Connolly hides 1988 Ferrari Mondial 3. 2 Cabriolet. This gorgeous Cab left the Marranello production line in November of 1987 and was invoiced to Ferrari North America where it was then sent to Ferrari of Beverley Hills. The car sold to its first owner in 1988 where it lived in Beverley Hills until European Motor Studio brought the car to AZ. In June of 1999 the second owner purchased the car and kept the car at his home in Beverley Hills until it was traded in on a newer model at the Beverley Hills Ferrari dealership this year. The car has been meticulously maintained at the Ferrari dealership and has only traveled a total of 16. 80 miles from brand new. The car has never seen snow. or any weather elements and is completely 100% original in every way. Except for a brand new soft top just put on the car. this Mondial Cabriolet has never been touched. damaged or wrecked. The car has brand new tires. newer brakes. brand new soft top and has just undergone a full belt and service at the Ferrari dealership. The runs and driver beautifully. starts right up and idles very smooth. The car accelerates flawlessly and shifts with ease. The transmission is very tight and precise and free from any grinding or slipping. The clutch feels excellent. there is no slipping of any kind. the suspension feels incredibly tight and precise. the handling of the car is so superb and free from any drifting or vibrations. All of the electronics are working as they should on the car. the headlight motors work all in sync with each other. all of the taillights. brake lights. headlights. fog lights. turn signals. reverse lights and side marker lights are all working. There are no dash lights on and the car is completely free from any mechanical issues. The power windows. mirrors. and door locks are all function as is the AC system. The Rosso Corsa paint is absolutely stunning in its original condition. Except for a small hairline scrape on the front nose where the license plate would sit which has been touched up. a tiny hairline scratch on the front left bumper corner. a tiny hairline crack on the lower black skirt. one tiny hairline scratch on the back left bumper and a small chip out of the corner of the drivers door. the paint shows nearly perfect. The interior is still the original factory Connolly leather and shows beautifully. The drivers seat does show some very slight crease marks but absolutely no cracking or damage of any kind. The rest of the seats look excellent. all of the carpets are original and 100& perfect and stain free. All of the switches and running gear look excellent. and the leather dash top looks perfect and is still soft and supple. This Mondial still retains all of its original Ferrari stamped glass all the way around and is completely clear and damage free. All of the rubber on the car is in excellent condition showing almost no age and still fairly soft. All of the original equipment is present with the car. the original owners hand book. the original black Ferrari master key. the original Ferrari jack in its original black bag along with the original spare tire. the leather convertible top boot and the original black canvas interior cover. These Mondial Cabriolet’s make for an outstanding road car. they offer excellent performance from a reliable V8 engine and comfortable seating for 4 people. With the prices of earlier Ferrari’s reaching huge sums of money. these later cars make outstanding buys. This car has a completely clean and clear carfax and clean and clear title.
