Very rare and low production 1972 Ferrari / Fiat Dino 2400 Coupe project car for sale, from the Michael Anthony K. Collection. If you know Dino's then you'll know that these cars were a joint venture between Ferrari and Fiat. Fiat was hired by Ferrari to build a car with a Ferrari engine, so Ferrari could compete in Formula II racing. Complete and original except NO ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION. The color is Grigio Silverstone Metallic with red and gray vinyl/velour interior. Look closely at the pictures. Many years ago this car had an electrical fire in the wiring harness at the front passenger corner of the car. This melted parts of the harness and also the rubber parts of the front passenger side suspension. A previous owner started bodywork on the front passenger fender and then the car went into storage for many years. There is also some weld work on the firewall. I'm selling this car "as is", as you can see in the pictures. Regarding rust, there is typical rust through at the rear quarter panels behind the fenders. There is also rust-through at the battery box floor, below the rear bumper, on the drivers side rocker, and some small holes in the two rear seat footwells. Some companies sell aftermarket body patch panels for these cars. EBay would only let me post eighteen pictures but I have many more pictures of the underside of the car. I urge any serious buyers to contact me prior to bidding so you can look at the underside pictures and make your own determination regarding the extent of the rust. I've seen much worse cars get restored to museum pieces, so rust extent is a matter of opinion. I don't have a lift so only took pictures of what I could see with the car on the ground. The trunk floor is in good condition and all suspension connection points appear to be in good condition. The wheels are the original Chromodora wheels. There are also TWO hubcaps, not four. I also have the old deteriorated Michelin XVS tires made in France and Belgium (not the tires currently on the car), if anyone would like to research the date and manufacture codes on them to ascertain any history of the cars past location (these cars were never sold new in the United States, I don't know what country this car was sold new in). This car also comes with a second used wiring harness, a second used windshield, the transmission cross member, all four loaded brake calipers (needing rebuild), wiper arms, and miscellaneous weatherstripping and other small parts. The car will be sold with a bill of sale, since cars in New York did not have titles prior to 1973. The car is located at zip 12754, which is one-hundred miles northwest of New York City.
My opinion on this car is that since they were not valuable in the years past, alot of them got junked or parted out. Now, as the years roll by, these cars are getting more rare and valuable. As a result, I'm ascertaining/hoping that the next owner will save and restore it. I've had some inquiries from restorers in Switzerland and England, so am thinking that this car will ultimately end up out of country again and will get restored.

I'm receiving various questions about the body design. This car was not designed by Fiat's in-house design team. When Ferrari hired Fiat to design the Fiat Dino, Fiat retained the design houses of Pininfarina (Filippo Sapino) to design the Dino convertible, and Bertone (Giorgetto Guigiaro) to design the coupe. The Bertone emblem is located on the front fenders, door sills, and dashboard.
