1965 LHD 11w Kombi Imported to the UK by myself from Oregon Crazy amount of history. including websites set up by the owners of the bus in the states throughout the 90's. including blogs and photos of its travels (including around South America) 1600cc TP engine - fabulous engine. I've put about 75k on this without any hitches STOCK all round. with the exception of a single quiet pack exhaust.  Bodywork is absolutely solid. Chassis is in extremely good condition.  None walkthrough model. 6 pop-outs (catches broken on some) Interior is a bit of a homemade affair. metal framed R&R bed. with very nice vinyl covering.  Cabinets and buddy seat have been made by me from an old writing desk. very nice and functional - but maybe not to everybody's taste.
I sold the van in 2007 for a short time. in the time it was away from me it was stripped to bare metal and some body issues sorted out. I bought it back in this bare metal state and rebuilt it over a few months. This is an incredibly solid van. not perfect. not a show winner but a vehicle you know you can trust.
Bad bits: Windscreen seals leak a small amount.  Cargo door bottoms (inner) could do with replacing at some point. they are a bit ropey.  The roof has a few dents that would probably pop out if you are that way inclined. (from where the old roof rack sat) The paint work isn't fantastic. it is clean but it was sprayed by me a few years ago and was never finished to a high standard. O/S rear quarter. behind the cargo doors has had a scrape at some point - it's had some filler work in this area. but the metal is still completely solid. Dents & Scratches from daily use (nothing major) Needs a new headlight switch.
Here is a link to many more detailed shots of the bus (these photos were taken on 4th May 2013): http://s27. photobucket. com/user/mynamei . May%202013
The bus comes with 12 months MOT (May 2014) & Taxed (Exempt) till Feb 2014. Sailed through all MOT's it's had in this country.
I've used the bus as a daily driver up until last September. and it was considerably more reliable than my replacement Peugeot 307. Regally returning 32-35mpg.
Reason for selling: New business venture & recent purchase of a larger motor home.
Located in Sheffield.
Any questions. please feel free to ask. - Viewings very welcome.
