1980 Jeep CJ 7 for sale
Current customer rating: (48 votes ) based onBODY OVERVIEW: The body on this Jeep is incredible, showing normal signs of use. This Jeep appears to be largely original, and is super clean and solid throughout. There are some minor dings and dents that come with age, but overall the body is stunning.
PAINT CONDITION OVERVIEW: The paint is in great overall condition. There are very few paint imperfections, and the few that are visible are normal signs of use rather than signs of mistreatment. The black paint is slick with a deep glossy finish, and shows very well. The orange Renegade decals really pop against the black, even though they are showing mild sun damage.
INTERIOR CONDITION OVERVIEW: The brown interior is in great shape, though the driver's seat is showing its age as shown in the photos. There is no doubt that this Jeep has been treated right! Recovering the driver's seat would go a long way, and really clean the overall look of this CJ up. Upgrades include rear speakers, a modern radio, and an under-dash A/C unit.
MECHANICAL OVERVIEW: Under the hood is an AMC 304V8, which runs and sounds fantastic. Despite what you may have heard, AMC could make a pretty formidable engine back in this time period, and the 304 was no exception. The 304 is a good choice for a CJ, because while it provides more than adequate power, it certainly isn't overpowering and actually helps this CJ feel nimble. The transmission shifts great, and the dual exhaust provides a hearty rumble without blowing out your eardrums.
WHAT YOU'LL LOVE ABOUT THIS CAR: Modifications are at a minimum, and it retains that classic '80s Jeep look! This thing is in great shape!
WHAT YOU MIGHT HATE ABOUT THIS CAR: As nice as it is, we're not so sure this Jeep has ever seen a full restoration. If you're looking for a full restored trailer queen, this is not it.
DOES IT NEED ANYTHING? The horn and air conditioning are not currently operational.
WHAT BUYER IS LOOKING FOR THIS CAR? This Jeep is for the buyer looking for a road-ready Jeep they can drive and enjoy the same day they buy it. If you're looking for a nice, largely unmodified Jeep that drives well enough that you can actually enjoy it, this is a great candidate!
