43 Years of previous ownership (California Car)

This 1957 BMW Isetta 300 USA Sliding Window Model is a California car and stayed there until 2010, it still holds its CA title, registration and license plate. Lot's of receipts documenting its mechanical history are included.

This is a USA 300 Sliding Window Model which is indicated on the VIN tag inside the interior and stamp on the frame. Engine number 510040.

The odometer reads 17,944 miles which seems to be pretty average for these types of micro cars, top speed is limited which usually keeps highway miles to a minimum.

The engine has strong compression and fires up cold well, see video and photo of the compression test. The ignition light (red) headlights, running lights, brake lights and speedometer all function as they should, still working on the rear tail lights. The choke is disabled but can be re-assembled. It does seem to bog down a bit when running, still diagnosing. All gears shift through fine including reverse. Overall a great survivor that does need some work to be a solid daily driver, but it's not too far away from that, mostly cosmetic and electrical.

A recent tune up was done which included the oil being changed, new spark plug, transmission level topped off and the rear chain case being topped off.

The brakes were overhauled in 2016, stops very well!

The frame, floor, cross members and undercarriage are rust free and doesn't have any soft spots. The body does have a few dings, chips and corrosion areas which I documented.

The interior presents well with the seat being recovered in 2010. The original side panels are in good shape along with the top which folds up with ease.

It does come with a box of extra parts which include the intake air box and heater fan outlets.

These Isettas are very basic automobiles, if you have any mechanical skills this little micro car shouldn't pose you any issues over the course of it's ownership.
