1979 10th Anniversary 4 Speed Trans AM - One of only 1,817 to receive the Pontiac W72 400 rated at 220hp. It is the first year the Trans AM window sticker would eclipse $10,000. On the heels of the Smokey & the Bandit phenomena and the success GM experienced with the 1978 Special Edition Corvette, Pontiac decided to celebrate the first decade of the Trans AM with a 10th Anniversary Edition. It was also announced that this would be the last year the Pontiac 400ci Engine. Dealers were quick to mark up these cars as much as 100%, an additional $10,000, as collectors scrambled to acquire one. So there was no shortage of reasons to consider purchasing this special Anniversary Edition Trans AM.

This Trans AM was built in the Norwood, Ohio plant and Sold New at Tom Klepfer Pontiac Buick in Yorkshire, NY. It is nicely documented with it's original Window Sticker and Build Sheet. It is an original panel car that still has its original paint and its original Leather Interior. The first year Digital Radio is still in the dash. The AC blows Cold. If you like true survivor cars, this one has to check off the boxes for you. The 1979 Anniversary Trans AM was the car used as the Pace Car for the 1979 Daytona 500 Race. Terry Bradshaw, the MVP of the 1979 NFL Super Bowl was awarded a 1979 10th Anniversary Trans AM just like this one. There are just so many reasons that these cars are collectible! This is an excellent example of a very collectible Trans AM. Maybe it is the right one for you.

This vehicle is available for sale locally as well, so we reserve the right to end the auction early if needed.  The purchaser is responsible for any transport fees, but we can help arrange an open or enclosed carrier to deliver the vehicle to your door at a wholesale rate as well.  Vehicle is being sold AS IS with NO Warranty, required by law in the state of Nebraska.  The $500 Deposit is non-refundable.  Not every vehicle we sell is a restored vehicle.  Options are listed for reference.  Not every option is guaranteed functional and/or tested.  Ask questions, do not make assumptions.  We do our best to list vehicle as accurately as possible, but occasionally errors in descriptions can happen.  We are not responsible for these error or omissions.  If you are not sure about something, please ask and we will do our best to answer your questions.  Local independent inspections are available for a fee.  Information is available upon request.
