1979 10 th Anniversary 4 Speed Trans AM - One of only 1,817 to receive the Pontiac W 72 400 rated at 220 hp. It is the first year the Trans AM window sticker would eclipse $10,000. On the heels of the Smokey & the Bandit phenomena and the success GM experienced with the 1978 Special Edition Corvette, Pontiac decided to celebrate the first decade of the Trans AM with a 10 th Anniversary Edition. It was also announced that this would be the last year the Pontiac 400 ci Engine. Dealers were quick to mark up these cars as much as 100%, an additional $10,000, as collectors scrambled to acquire one. So there was no shortage of reasons to consider purchasing this special Anniversary Edition Trans AM.

This Trans AM was built in the Norwood, Ohio plant and Sold New at Tom Klepfer Pontiac Buick in Yorkshire, NY. It is nicely documented with it's original Window Sticker and Build Sheet. It is an original panel car that still has its original paint and its original Leather Interior. The first year Digital Radio is still in the dash. The AC blows Cold. If you like true survivor cars, this one has to check off the boxes for you. The 1979 Anniversary Trans AM was the car used as the Pace Car for the 1979 Daytona 500 Race. Terry Bradshaw, the MVP of the 1979 NFL Super Bowl was awarded a 1979 10 th Anniversary Trans AM just like this one. There are just so many reasons that these cars are collectible! The purchaser is responsible for any transport fees, but we can help arrange an open or enclosed carrier to deliver the vehicle to your door at a wholesale rate as well.
